I'm back until Friday! Yay! ^_^

Wonderful!!!!!!!!!

How is your summer going so far???

Pretty good, although mostly boring. Working, kayaking, picture taking. I'm home now to help out with vbs. I miss my college friends and internet access.

We have missed you! Glad to hear things are good. The lack of internet access really makes you realize just how much you enjoy being online and how big a part of your life it is. After the hurricanes, what I missed most was my internet access.

Okay, so, here's my typical journal style entry of what's been going on in my life (sorry it's so long):

So far, my summer has been pretty good. :) I've been working in the Club House (it runs kinda like a hotel) with a bunch of kids about 11 years old. We basically do housekeeping work. I've also been taking tons of pictures, kayaking, and swimming. It's been nice. :) Ian had more mono complications, was hospitalized, has a surgery, and is now still recovering.

I got back home early Monday morning, because I'm helping with my church's Vacation Bible School. I now have a ranger hat that says Ms. Terry. :XD (The theme is "Rescue Zone: Saved by God's Power) They've got me taking pictures of the kids and lending a hand wherever I'm needed. It's tons of fun. ^_^

My friend Phil came over today. We played DDR, went swimming, and jumped on the trampoline. Then we chatted for about an hour, and he taught me the basic swing step (he does ballroom dancing). And then he tought me how to play Final Fantasy (despite most of my friends being video game/band/anime geeks, I rarely if ever participate in any of those activities). And Phil plays piano (he taught himself). Didn't know that. He might be coming over again on Thursday, or I might go to his house.

Which brings me to the interesting parts. Upon my arrival, I found out that Ian apparently has a girlfriend, and incoming freshman. And I'm okay with that, I'm allowing my feelings for Ian to subside because, in reality, he's probably not a good match anyways. I'm only concerned for Ian's sake because last time he dated a freshman, she cheated on him and left him heartbroken. But whatever, it's his life. I just hope he doesn't get hurt. So with that information, it's helped me to get over Ian, which is good. This is what I needed.

Interesting part two: I was talking to Lara last night about Phil coming over, and it hit me like a ton of bricks: I might have mentioned earlier that what I need in a guy is a hybrid of my friends Kenny, Ian, and Marius. Duh! Phil matches that description! From Kenny, Phil has the faith, and the slight neuroticism (hey, you take the good with the bad). From Ian, he has a bit of culture. He does the ballroom dancing and plays piano. And he's willing to teach me things. And from Marius, he has the video games, anime, ddr, and j-pop interests (which both Ian and Kenny would likely reject).

And Phil was also the one who answered the "do you have a crush on me" question in a 20 questions thing awhile back with that he had a crush on me in 4th grade. Which is trivial, really, but if you think about it, when you have a crush on someone, you never lose your feelings for them 100% (unless maybe, they did something awful to you, but that's never happened to me)

And yeah, tonight at VBS when I was waiting for some kids and thinking about the day I had just spent with Phil and all that, I realized that I'm starting to have some feelings for him. But I need to be careful not to rush it or do anything stupid. So we'll see. I need to get back into a habit of praying for God's will, wisdom, and guidance in my life more often.

Oh and forgot to mention this about Phil's visit: He rode his bike all the way over here (over a mile, with hills) with a huge duffel bag containing his DDR mat and computer. I was impressed that someone would ride a bike that far just to see me. (We drove him home after dad got back from work)

You will have to post a pic of you in your Ms. Terry Ranger Hat! :D

Your summer sounds like it has been fun so far. Kayaking is really a great way to exercise along with being relaxing for the mind.

I hope Ian is back on his feet soon and in the best of health. As for the news of a freshman girlfriend... ohhhhh. You really are doing well in handling your feelings and moving on. You have a great friendship with him and that is something that no one can ever change. I hope this girl does not break his heart.

Phil... he sounds like a really cool guy. I like the fact that he is a combination of all your friends. It says something when he will ride his bike with a stuffed duffle bag to see you. Phil sounds like a great friend and a great guy to think more about. You are smart, so I am certain you will handle this at the speed you feel comfortable with and I really can't see you doing anything stupid. So, it sounds like you will be having a spectacular semester. :D

Thanks for filling us in.

Hahaha yeah, Phil is really a sweetheart. The only problem is that if we were to pursue a relationship, his college is a good 5 hours away from mine, at least. But who knows? As for the Ian thing, yeah, despite that and the fact that my grandpa is dying of cancer (he's old, in his 80's), I was in a really really really good mood yesterday. I was even in a good mood when I was cleaning the house yesterday morning (I hate cleaning, unless I'm getting paid for it). Haha yeah, I'll have to get a good picture of me in my hat. And kayaking is tons of fun. I recently got an mp3 player, so last time I went kayaking I took that along with me, which was cool. Mmm...that's pretty much it. Today I need to pack up all my stuff for college (I'll be leaving directly from camp) and, if possible, get my room straightened out (it looks like it exploded). And that's pretty much it, I think...

Waterproof the MP3!!! That advice is not really for you, but for me. I can see me falling out of the kayak into the river and my iPod losing it's life by drowning.

Your grandfather and family will be in our thoughts, hearts and prayers. Cancer is pretty scary. I hope you get to spend some time with him so that you can tell him how much you love him and how he has been a wonderful part of your life.

Now for Phil... five hours... oh my. Distance makes the heart grow fonder?

As for your room... just get the commercial version of the Mega Hyper Uber Shop Vac and vacuum everything up.

The Shop Vac will clean your room fast.

lol we have a shop vac, but it's at camp. :P My mp3 player isn't waterproof, but I keep it in a zip lock bag in my life jacket pocket. And my kayak is pretty hard to tip unless you do something really stupid, like lean all the way over to one side or try standing in it. I doubt I'll be able to see grandpa again, because he lives in FL (he and grandma moved down there from NH when grandpa decided that a man his age shouldn't be shoveling snow off the roof of their house). And yeah, five hours. I guess that's what instant messaging is for. I figure if I ended up in a long distance relationship like that we'd both get webcams.

Get -Kat- and her hoover to clean your room.

I've been working in the Club House (it runs kinda like a hotel) with a bunch of kids about 11 years old.

Terry. (The theme is "Rescue Zone: Saved by God's Power) They've got me taking pictures of the kids and lending a hand wherever I'm needed. It's tons of fun.

You will have to post a pic of you in your Ms. Terry Ranger Hat!

Camp?!?!? Get that Shop Vac home from camp!

I would do something stupid like stand on my back legs in the kayak.

Please call your grandfather. Before you do, think of everything you want to tell him and please do this. New Hampshire, I love that state, so beautiful, but so snowy. I agree, they do better in Florida.

Webcams!!! Stellar idea!!!!! Instant messaging and text messaging... great ways to stay in touch.

Hahaha we need the shop vac more at camp than here. As for grandpa, he was was never really a big part in my life, so I don't have anything really to say to him other than "See you later" (not goodbye because I'm pretty sure he's saved and I'll see him again in heaven). But I do take pictures that my dad sends to him on occasion. I'm more worried about grandma on dad's side, because she's an emotional basket case over all this. (They've been married over 50 years, and only slept apart once the whole time). And NH is gorgeous. They had this beautiful log home too, it was so pretty. And yes, IM is a wonderful thing. ^_^ Sadly, Phil can't send text messages, because it runs up his phone bill.

Too bad you both are not on the same plan. We get unlimited text messages. Nice. :)

I hope your grandmother is okay. They say that when one partner, in a relationship such as your grandparents have, passes; it is not long before the other person joins them. A log cabin in NH... nice.

I just got an itty bitty bunch of attachments for my shop vac. Oh yes!!! How cool!!!!!!

I got sidetracked with an update and then I had to restart my computer.

My apologies.

As for Clickomania, look around...

*cough, cough*

It's free. Look for the original by Mathias Schussler.

Or look for the one that just says Clickomania.

We tried Cingluar for a little while, but we didn't get reception where we needed it.

Yeah. My cousin had cingular and it didn't work for her were she lives and she lives at least five miles away from me.

Oh... :( I'm sorry to hear this. I bet you get lots more coverage now that Cingular, Bell South and AT&T merged.

Yeah. We just renewed the verizon plan though. It was probably less expensive or something like that.

Well, I go back to camp later this evening, and I probably won't be able to get back online until September when I go back to college. So, if I don't get a chance to post until then, enjoy the rest of your summer!

Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

You will be missed. Have a great rest of the summer.

Enjoy your camp, and I hope you start your fall semester well. :)

You must be getting excited about your fall semester. :D

Yes, I am. :) A bit nervous about the workload and band camp, but I don't think it's anything I can't handle in the long run.

I think you are going to do great. Just remember, if things get to be too much, you can always take a lighter load in the second semester.

It seems so far away, but once you get there and are having a phenomenal time, the year will breeze by.

Next you will be graduating college and wonder how the years passed so fast. Enjoy these next years as much as you can.

The friendships you make during college will last a lifetime.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm at the mall in front of the Apple store where I get free wifi. ^_^ My summer's been going pretty well, but it's been boring. I can't wait to go back to college, like you have no idea. I've been keeping a little journal in a small notepad, but of course it's back in the cabin. if you want, I can post it later when I remember it at college. My little sister goes to college tomorrow, so we're all out at the mall todat. We had dinner, and we're going to see a movie in a little bit. Jesse: You're brilliant, you'll do fine. :)

You can just walk into the Apple store and get on line on any of their computers, you don't have to sit outside.

Sorry to hear summer is boring. I can't wait for you to get back to college, then we will hear from you lots more!

Good luck to your little sister.

I know, but I prefer using my own computer. Yeah, and only 4 more days! ^_^ I sooooooooo can't wait to go back to college. I just hope dad fixes the washing machine here before I have to go back. I'm running out of clean clothes, and I don't want to take 2 weeks worth of dirty laundry with me to college. o.O

Haha, yeah, that contradicts the most important reason for visiting home: doing laundry for free. :D I'm also excited for my classes to start, which is in 4 days too. :)

But laundry here at college is free too. :P I'm finally back at college and all moved in. I just have a bit of organizing to do tomorrow, so my room will be organized chaos instead of just pure chaos. Today was a good day overall, it was awesome to see all my friends again and all that. Lara, Marius, and I all went out to Wawa sometime close to midnight. And tomorrow I have the day off. I just need to get my enrollment holds cleared in the office (my loan didn't go through yet). And that's pretty much it. I should go to sleep soon because I've been awake since about 5am. o.O

Yeah, it shouldn't be that big a deal. I'm approved for the loan, but on one of the pages of paperwork we apparently missed a line where I was supposed to sign it, so I had to sign the paper and send it back, and then it needs to get processed.... But I'm sure they'll understand that.

So, my time back so far has been wonderful, but I'm really worried about Marius. He's seemed really depressed and melancholy lately. We both walked Lara back to her residence hall (which is far away from everything but the frat buildings, and it was late), and on the way back I asked him if he was okay, and he said no. So I asked him what's wrong, and he said "nothing." And then he said, "this summer's been really bad for me." So now I'm kinda worried about him, because I don't like seeing him in such a bad mood, especially because he's such a great guy.

I am so sorry to hear this. It is hard when a good friend is going through some deep personal problems. What you have not considered is just how much your friendship means to him and how he knows that he has someone to turn to when he wants to talk. Your friendship means quite a bit and is a form of solace during this time.

I can hope so. Hopefully he was able to get a good night's sleep and is feeling a bit better today, but that doesn't seem too likely. I get the idea that he's been through a lot over the years, although I don't know the details, and his brain works in ways I can't even begin to understand. He's really a fascinating person. *shrugs* Oh well, I guess there's not really much I can do for him aside from keep him company unless he wants to talk abouut it, which is also not all too likely.

In other news, I had my first education class today (which, thankfully, got out really early, because technically we're booked to be there from 8am to 2pm). The class looks like it's going to be really awesome, and the teachers, one of them seems a lot like a politican, and the other one is a veteran of the school system, who knows all the ins and outs of what to do and what not to do. In October, we're going to start going into a local middle school to observe and ultimately teach classes, which is going to be awesome. ^_^ I just need to go get some more professional looking clothes now....

I remember the coolest professor I ever had was my anthropology professor who wore hippie clothes and had a huge, thick braid that was longer than her tailbone.

Hahaha excellent! Once I get an actual job, I'll wear my normal nice-ish clothing. But until then, especially when dealing with people who are going to be my references when I apply for jobs, I need to look and act professional. *twitches* :P

Oh no... Not professional looking clothes!!!!!!!!

*starts acting like my fur itches*

I understand completely. You are smart in knowing how to play the game. LOL

Hahaha thank you. And Marius seems to be a bit better today. Not quite back to normal, but better. I watched Donnie Darkoe for the first time today. Strange movie.

Glad to hear Marius is doing a bit better. He seems like a very sensitive guy and emotional problems will take a bigger toll on him, than someone without a sensitive side. You are such a great friend. It makes me so happy that I know someone like you. :D

Aw, thank you! ^_^ Yeah, Marius I think has had a rather troubled past, and he only likes to reveal his past to us in bits and pieces. And it seems that when things come up that relate to his past, he sometimes gets upset. Although I think a decent part of his depression has to do with a lack of girlfriend (and why he's still single is a mystery to me), and that might be causing some self esteem issues. I'm sure he'll be fine though. And I'm just glad it's Friday. Yay the weekend! ^_^

Now I know why you need naps... you are starting to become nocturnal, like me.

I have no quesses as to why he is still single, but I wish I could tell him that he is still young and there is so much to life before he worries about having a girlfriend. When you are young, this is the time to find out who you are, where you want to be and get all those adventurelust spirits out. When you become involved with someone, even moreso, settle down and start having a family, your life and freedom changes dramatically. So now is the time to enjoy life, meet people and develop your career. Give him a hug for me. He sounds like such a gem of a guy.

As for the weekend... party, party, party!!!

By party I mean exactly all the things you mentioned. You forgot the most important party item... just do nothing and enjoy it.

I am not a get dressed up, go to a gathering of people, half of which you do not know, make pretty conversation with a bunch of people who are drinking too much... I would rather stay home and take a sand bath.

Today was a good day. I took a nap after class, and after dinner a bunch of us went to wal-mart. Then we hung out for awhile, went to the event that was going on in the dining hall, came back, watched Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, and hung out some more. Eventually it was just me, Marius, and Dave in my room talking about relationships. It seems Marius' recent distraction is coming from his interest in this girl Maggie, and anxiety over talking to her without coming across as a creepy stalker and without being put in the "friend zone" and all that sort of stuff guys obsess over. And he seems to be doing much better now anyways. And I've been feeling a bit of the loneliness (as in lack of boyfriend) lately too, mostly because there's no one for me to fix my interests upon. Ian, although my feelings for him aren't totally gone, I need to not dwell on for obvious reasons, and Phil is a good 5 or so hours away from here. Everyone else is pretty much out of the question based on faith alone, if not fundamental differences in interests. So now I'm just kinda stuck, and the stupid idea comes back with that I'm so strange, how willI ever find the right guy? And of course it all has to be in God's timing and not my own, but it would really be nice for me to have a guy to love and have love me, someone to talk to and just be with, you know? But really, this is mostly senseless rambling that probably most people can relate to. I just need to wait for God to set everything up and give me the go-ahead. And I need to go to sleep, because it's 4am.

If there was some way I could let you know that you definitely are not strange, but know exactly what you are looking for in a guy, the search will take a bit longer. Ultimately, you will meet and have a relationship with the guy of your dreams. There are some girls who go out with a guy, just to be with someone, and it never ends good. So, if there was some way I could get you to enjoy your alone time and not consider it into loneliness, I would give you this gift. The right guy is out there, it just might be a bit longer before you two are together, but he will be well worth the wait.

Oh I know. Although I am strange, which I thing is a good thing, and the type of guy I'm looking for is virtually nonexistant. Like I know the right guy is out there somewhere, but I don't think I've met him yet. lol eHarmony is looking better and better. :P And I wouldn't go out with someone just to be with someone. That's why I have friends. :P I'm just hoping the guy God's got for me comes along sooner rather than later.

Today's been fun so far. I slept in until 1, and then went out with a bunch of friends. First we went to a thrift store (I got a suit jacket, the start of my much needed collection of professional clothing), then to a book and record exchange (where Dave bought "Kosher Classics"), and then we went to Dave's house, and then out for pizza. And now we're back and I'm doing laundry. Later tonight we've got plans to go to white castle.

Hahaha yep. I didn't go, but my friends brought the food back. I'm afraid to eat it. Bad things will probably happen to my digestive tract. Dave and Marius also stuck around, and ended up in my room just chatting about things, mostly about relationships and our pasts, which is always interesting because it gives you new insight about people. When they came back from white castle, everyone was in my room, but gradually they left. Dave stuck around for awhile after though (he just left) which was kind of interesting.

I have never eaten one of those things. As you say, bad things would probably happen to your digestive tract. I agree.

*takes a look at the digestive tracts of those who have eaten these sliders, and see their innards are preserved for life, with a heavy grease layer along every surface*

Yes rootbeer is evil.

It first happened back in Texas I went to jack in the box with some friends ~wants tacos now~

and I ordered a small rootbeer then when we got back to my house I threw up and all I had was the rootbeer. and a couple of weeks ago livvie came over and we didn't have anything but rootbeer and I had forgotten about the jack in the box incident, so later that night i got sick. My life pretty much stinks. I miss drinking rootbeer I can't even have rootbeer floats

~curls up in fetal postion and rocks back and forth~

I'm not a huge fan of tacos. Chicken fingers are good though, I just ate some. And the pizza in our dining hall is good. That's pretty much all I eat. And ramen. :D

It's actually not too bad. Grease does bad things to me too. This morning I went to the job fair, and wrote my name down for student painter, and event set-up staff. Hopefully i'll get at least one of the two.

I can relate to everything there, just from the guy's perspective, or however you want to put it. (except for the god dealies, but no need to get into an argument.)

even the need to get off of HD at 4 am for sleep. x3

You can't expect god to set up everything for you. You need to do some things on your own, but don't disregard good judgement.

One of my very best friends, with whom I am very close (we'll call her Jess. cause that is her name. xD) used to be my crush. But I realized that it would just be akward. We are to close to go out, cause that makes perfect since. x3. She just didn't think of me as a boyfriend, just her best guy friend.

I am extremely good at getting myself mired deep in the friend zone, with just about every girl I know whose presence I enjoy. xD

I think that I'd rather leave some things in God's hands than my own, but that's not worth arguing over. Over winter break I plan on visiting with Phil a lot so we can get to know each other better, and then maybe things will happen. But for now there's not much I can do aside from chat online.

As for my day today, it was good. I had my first bio lab, which was alright, then I went to dinner, then starbucks, and then choir, which was fun. They placed me as an alto (gee I never would have guessed that one... ). And I got Christina and Lara to go too, which is cool. So it looks like it's going to be fun. After choir, I hung out with Lara for a half hour, and then came back to my room. I was then summoned by my across the hall neighbors who needed help taking a bed frame apart. I left them my tools and went to take a shower, and now here I am. :)

I waited for you, but decided that you might be off doing something else. So I found another great book and started reading it for the second time. Mouse Guard: Fall 1152.

Just a thought, when you all move in, aren't you supposed to be putting the bed frames together? LOL

Hahaha well, I guess the top of the wooden part of the bed frame was taller than the bottom, so they wanted to take it apart and reassemble it upside-down so the tall part would be on the bottom and they'd have more space under their bed. Today's been good so far. It finally rained, so it's cooler out. I actually have my hair down right now and I'm not drenched in sweat. I had my 8am education class, which was good. I really like our teacher. When I got back I took a nap for a few hours, which I needed. Then I went to lunch with some friends, and now I'm back until I have class again at 3:30.

Yeah, it rained here too. I pulled out my umbrella, and it was kind of funny because the wind would pick up sometimes and make the umbrella turn inside out  But yes, it was much needed here too.

Glad to hear your classes are good so far. Same with me, except that history has lots of reading

Hahaha yeah. I lucked out, it was barely raining at all when I had to go to and from class. ^_^ Yeah, history classes always involve lots of reading. Luckily, in most classes, you can usually get away with only skimming it. Today was fun. We had a small DDR party in my room. Our across the hall neighbor joined us for a little bit with his metal mat. He's crazy! He was getting A's and B's on expert and challenge. And then I joined everyone else at the diner, came back, and made ramen. :D

Practice makes perfect. I used to be really bad at DDR. But boredom and friends that play too helped me get up to a decent level. The kid that joined us yesterday was just insane.

Yesterday was tiring. Right after class, mom came over to drop off some stuff and take me out shoppng for a good 7 hours. I came back to fins a whole bunch of people in my room playng boggle, so I watched them and started on my homework. Then most of them left, leaving just Lara and Christina. Unable to put up with Lara in my present state of tiredness, I went over to chill with Marius for awhile. I went back to my room when everyone else was gone, and took a quick nap before our hall meeting, where they talked about wellness and their expectations of us. Then I went back to my room to finish my homework, and some other people came and hung out at the same time. And then I went to sleep.

 Now you know why I am not a shopper!

Yeah. Shopping's not so fun when you don't really like what you're looking at. Plus I had to get pants and shoes (as well as jackets and shirts) and it's really hard to find pants and shoes that fit me properly. Today, aside from class and food, I took a long nap and went to yoga. We have a new yoga instructor this year, but she seems alright.

Hahaha :P Yoga is good for improving flexability and balance, toning muscles, and relaxing. Doesn't help my virtually nonexistant cardiovascular system though. But that's what DDR is for.

Plus I had to get pants and shoes (as well as jackets and shirts) and it's really hard to find pants and shoes that fit me properly. Today, aside from class and food, I took a long nap and went to yoga. We have a new yoga instructor this year, but she seems alright.

Hamsters are excellent at yoga. Just look at the contortions we can twist our bodies into.

Hahaha :P Yoga is good for improving flexability and balance, toning muscles, and relaxing. Doesn't help my virtually nonexistant cardiovascular system though. But that's what DDR is for.

DDR will definitely get your blood flowing and your heart racing!

Indeed! ^_^ To finish out the day, I went to the diner with some friends, and then Marius, Kim, and I watched Corpse Bride. Good movie. :)

I haven't seen that one, I will add it to the list.

My movie list is so long I am not sure if I will ever get through half of them.

Today was good. We went to bingo, and none of us won anything, but it was still fun. Once Marius gets out of the shower we're going to watch "How I Met Your Mother" ^_^

*is too busy to reply as I am baking cupcakes for Campsoup's birthday party*

Hope to see you there. :)

We haven't done much yet, aside from Dave's consuming excessive amounts of caffeine at Starbucks. I sent Marius some ringtones he wanted, and sent some others I came across to people I know who would like them. And that was pretty much it. Now I'm waiting for Dave's music to finish copying to my hard drive (might take a few hours) and for my laundry to be done.

Today has been busy. Class 9-10 lab 2:50-5, dinner, and then chorus 6:45-9:45. Then another homework party. Tomorrow I have to go harass financial aid about my enrollment hold (it's been a week and a half already!), and Wednesday I'm planning on going swimming with Lara and maybe some other people (the pool opened today). Wednesday is also national talk like a pirate day. Thursday is Marius' birthday, and we're all planning on going to a coffee shop where his best friend from home's band is playing, which should be fun. So it's looking like a busy, but fun week.

Yesterday was awareness day, where all the clubs on campus set up a table so you can join them. This year it was outside instead of in the gym, so everyone's displays kept getting blown over by the wind. I also went to pilates and decided I don't really like it. After dinner I played DDR for a little while, and the rest of the evening was just hanging out with friends and going to the c-store/diner/starbucks. Oh, and today is national talk like a pirate day, for anyone who's curious. Seeing as I only have one class today, there's a good chance I'll go swimming with Lara, which should be fun. And inter-varsity is tonight, so I should go to that. After that (or in between it) I have homework to do for my ed class, and I should probably get my studying done for my bio quiz on Friday, because tomorrow's looking like it might be a busy day.

Okay... no more "diner" talk. We have only one good diner in this area, and they are originally from New York and operated diners up there, so each and every time you mention diner, I get jealous. So, the word "diner" is hereby banned, unless you invite me.

It's not really a diner. They just call it that. They don't even have pancakes. You go in, stand in line select what you want from a touch screen thing, pay for it, wait for them to shout your number, and then go get it.

Today after class I took a nap. Around noon, I was woken up by Dave pounding on my door to go get lunch (Marius was there too). After that we went to look at the posters they were selling in the rec center, and the spotted Christina playing pool with someone and went to watch. Then Dave left for class, and then Christina, so Marius and I headed back here. I think he's playing video games now. And I have homework to do. Oh, and Dave finally admitted that he likes Christina. I'm not sure what she thinks of him, but I think they'd actually make a good couple.

 You are off the hook. I love the real 'diners'. They opened the one somewhat near here and it has been a booming success, almost the second they opened their doors.

I really hope that I end up getting to go to a dorm for college.

You should. If nothing else for the experience of living somewhat on your own.

Well, if all goes how my friend and I would like it, her and I would end up rooming together. And that would be amazingly fun.

As long as you get into the same college, you should be able to room together. There's usually a space in the housing application to request your specific roomie.

On wednesday Marius' mom came over to drop off some small birthday presents and a cake (which had not only misspelled Marius, but also the word Birthday). Later in the evening I went to Inter-Varsity, and after that met my friends at the coffee house/pub on campus (it's dual purpose depending on the day, Wednesdays it's a coffee house with live (usually bad) music. Yesterday was mostly spend studying and being in class, except for when we went out with Marius to see his friend's band, like I said before. They were actually pretty good, but as is common there, it was way too loud for the small space where they were performing. Today I'm pretty sure I failed my bio quiz, but I got to take a nice long nap from about 10:30 to 1:00, and then went to get lunch with my friends (perfect timing). I got back to find two emails from my mom: one harassing me to get a job, and the other telling me my account balance (after she added money to it) and telling me, "Spend wisely, unemployed one." And she really doesn't seem to get it. Unless you have connections, it is IMPOSSIBLE and let me repeat IMPOSSIBLE to get a job on campus, unless, as one of my friends so put it, "you're cleaning sewers naked or something." And I haven't been spending much money either. I never do. The one expensive thing I needed was an ink cartridge for my printer, which, since it only came in a two pack (one black and one color) was a good $30 or so. Plus I had to take out $20 in anticipation of buying a choir folder. So I emailed her these things and asked her to stop harassing me. I think having both me and my sister at college is taking a toll on her.

:blink::o:blink::o:blink:

WHAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT?????????????????

Colleges allow guys and girls to room together in the same room? I can understand a co-ed dorm, but co-ed roomies?????

*falls over in shock*

What? No. Hehe, I should have specified. Roomies must be the same gender. Although how does that work for gay couples that want to room together? That seems a tad unfair...

The rest of today went better. We went out shopping for a little bit, then Lara and I made dinner in the kitchen in my building. I stopped by the room down the hall because they were playing DDR. Well, I ended up playing, and didn't return to my room until about 4am. The people there are are really cool. So I have some new DDR friends. :D

Today was fun. I slept until almost 2. Then I went out shopping with Lara, which was fun. I got back just in time to meet up with a few friends for dinner, then came back to my room to play DDR for awhile. Around 8:30 we went to the rec center/starbucks, and then Lindsay and I went out to Laras building to see part of her disney movie marathon (the movie we stayed for was lion king). And now I'm back here waiting to see what happens next.

My week so far has been rather dull and uneventful, aside from watching House with an unusually large group of people. I think I'm getting sick, probably with that cold thing everyone else seems to have. Either that or something in this building is aggrivating my allergies. Oh, I was selected for women's ensemble in choir. I forget if I mentioned that. And that's pretty much it.

Thanks! ^_^ Yeah, as for the cold, it just seems to be an occasional persistant cough when I'm in my room, so it's probably mold or something.

Uck!!! That makes it uncomfortable to say the least. Is there anything you can do to check for mold?

Nah. I mean there's stuff I could do, but it'd be more trouble than it's worth. It could definitely be worse. And the 95 degree weather today hasn't been helping much.

Yesterday was a good day overall, even though I didn't hang out with my friends much. It was nice to have some alone time. Inter-Varsity was last night, which was fun, and much needed. I realized that I haven't been trusting God with things as much as I should, and it's really stressing me out. So now I'm getting back on track. After IV, I came back and got some homework done, had friends wandering in and out of the room, and then I went to sleep.

They do. And I always forget how much it throws me off when I start ignoring God. It's so strange. I get all confused and lose my ability to focus on anything. And then I realize I haven't been praying often enough or trusting God with things, and it's like, "Duh, that's why I'm so stressed out" and then I get back on track, and everything's all better.

It is. Today has been a fairly relaxed day too. A bunch of my friends are going to some on-campus concert in an hour, but I think I'm just going to chill here instead. :)

Today was so busy and lots of stress. But now I want an ice cream and there is none here. :( (Which is really a good thing. LOL )

lol yeah. I just got back from taking a walk. The moon is so bright that you can even see colors without a flashlight. Although I wish it would rain, it's so hot out. I do have a lot on my mind though. Lara's seemed all upset and moody all day. I think she's mad because we do things without her and don't invite her. But she needs to understand a few things: most of what we do is spur-of-the moment, completely unplanned. Many, dare I say most, of our friends don't like her, because they think she's annoying (and she can be). So when these things happen in someone else's room, I'm not at liberty to invite her over. Also, not only does she live on the other side of campus (it was her choice to take that RA position), but she's constantly busy between classes, clubs, and being an RA. So half the time she wouldn't be able to make it out anyways (instead she'd probably try to get the entire group to do it at a time that fits her schedule, because that's how she is. So at the end of it all, there's not much I can do about it. And it bugs me that she gets so upset. She wouldn't talk to me about why she was so upset today, but she apparently told Christina, who says she was told in confidence. So I think Lara's mad at me for some reason.

Part two of what's been on my mind: try as I will to get over it, I still have feelings for Ian. And I have to ignore them, because I know it's not going to work out (and he has a girlfriend). But when it comes down to it, I still like him. And I know that's normal, but it bothers me, and it's not good for me. And it's hard because there's no one really there that it would work out with. Except maybe Phil, but he's too far away right now. And it's even more frustrating because I know, logically, that I don't need a boyfriend! But emotionally, I feel like I do. It's stupid. Normal, probably, but still stupid.

So I'm all sorts of frustrated now. :glare:

My mind is a very mixed up and confused place right now. Prayers for wisdom and guidance and general sanity would be great.

Aside from that, today was nice. The guys and I went out to good-will, came back just in time for dinner, and then we went out for a walk, which was fun times as always. Then I went grocery shopping with Lindsay, Brennan, and Dave. And after that we chilled in my room for awhile, and then went to Marius' room to watch the earlier episodes of Heros. And now I'm back here in my room. :)

I hope you find your wisdom and guidance. As for your general sanity, I could always take you out to Sanity Springs Spa for a little rest, relaxation and recuperation.

Your sanity belongs to me, so if you come up with the right bribe, I could give it back to you.

Today was my first day in the middle school. I didn't really do much aside from check to make sure the kids were writing stuff down. They put me in a 7th grade biology class, which is good. The one down side is that I had to get up at 6am. <_< But it's worth it in the long run. Today I have an exam in my personality class, which hopefully won't be too tough.

I am SO bored! Pretty much everyone went home for the weekend. I think I did pretty well on my exam yesterday. Today I went swimming with Kim, which was nice. Then I went out to the good will store with Lara and her friend Bruccy who's visiting from out of town. And I got brown dress shoes which fit and don't cause excessive pain (not an easy task). And that's pretty much it. I downloaded limewire today, which is proving to be beyond awesome. But now I'm running out of songs to download.

So, when you answered the question, did you select the first choice or the second choice?

1. Will not

2. Might

To put it in the best way I know how, I'm sensing a disturbance in the force. Like things just don't seem right today. Part of it has to do with Lara. For some reason she got all mad at me because I wouldn't come visit her on the other side of campus yesterday. Now, normally I would have, but this weekend I had/have a lot of work to do, including studying for a bio quiz and housekeeping like laundry and all that fun stuff. But I'm pretty sure she thought I was just making up excuses. So she's all mad, and it's not really my fault, as explained before when she was all mad. The other thing is that both Dave and Marius seem like they're not right today. Dave's problem is probably largely due to having his wisdom teeth taken out and thus being on all sorts of drugs. And Marius just claims to be tired (apparently twice a year, in October and April, he can't sleep for a couple weeks, and when he does, he has really disturbing dreams). And I haven't seen Lindsay or Brennan all day, despite their both being on campus. So everything just seems rather out of balance today. Oh well, back to bio studying. I'll have to pull Dave and Marius aside later and make sure they're actually okay. There's nothing I can do about Lara until she gets over herself.

You are totally on target when you say there is nothing you can do about Lara. I think you are quite perceptive about her and how to deal with her. Being the person you are, I am sure this bothers you, and I am sorry this happens. It can add to any stress you are already having.

Poor Dave, wisdom teeth removal, how awful. I feel for him.

Marius, now this is interesting. October and April... the change of seasons, so to speak. I wonder what causes the inability to sleep and the disturbing dreams. Marius would be a great case study.

Good luck on your Bio test tomorrow. Perhaps this week will be better.

Yeah, I talked to christina (my roomie, and a mutual friend of mine and Lara's) about it, and she agrees that Lara is being rediculous, among other things.

Having teeth removed, to my understanding, is painful. But he seems more depressed than usual too, so I think something might be up.

Interesting, I hadn't considered the changing of the seasons. I'll have to mention that to him. Yeah, Marius is an interesting person. His brain works quite differently from most people, and he's extremely perceptive about most things, especially with reading body language. It's really fascinating.

Thanks :) I'm feeling quite a bit more confident about this exam than the last one. It's on stuff I know pretty well. I still have tons of studying to do though.
