My poetry

Long Term Short Term

There was a line that caught my mind,

How I'll be here for all of time.

I thought about junk mail and tests failed,

About how those things don't matter.

How I get caught in the rain, and it's such a pain,

But that tree over there has been stuck in every rain storm for the past 50 years.

I'm glad I'm not a tree.

Don't worry about people who stick up their noses, stop and smell the roses,

Because neither will be around for long, for better or for worse.

The brand of clothes you wear has no impact when you compare

to the friends you have and the memories you make.

Many report that life's too short,

but we all say, "In the long run..."

Keep both in mind, sometimes it's okay to look behind,

see where you've come from, and where you're going.

Where are you going? As the wind's blowing?

If that's good or bad I do not know.

Make your decisions with clarity and precision,

but don't worry about it too much.

Don't let your guard down, as you fall in love, somehow,

It's possible and impossible at the same time.

Make sense, make cents,

Pay the bills, but have time to kill.

Remember what's important, and don't lay dormant,

Lest life pass you by in a sigh.

That is, of course, if you can figure out what "important" means.

Very thought provoking.

Also... think what 'successful' means to you. What it really means to you.

Not what it means to society, but what would make you feel you were 'successful'.

Then perhaps a better question is "successful at what?" For me, success would just be being happy, and at the same time doing what God wants me to do.

If you can keep this mentality, then life will be very good for you.

The little daily stresses, you will be able to deal easily with those.

lol hopefully. I need to remind myself on a regular basis that little things aren't worth stressing over. Otherwise these things pile up and put me in a really bad mood.

If you can keep reminding yourself, then you will eventually see the stress coming and put and end to it before it happens. It just takes time and the ability to recognize before it occurs.

(And I am still working on the same thing. :) )

Worth a poem, I think:

Directions

So now I finally see,

How all this came to be.

And ending to my strife,

A direction for my life.

Though I don't understand,

I can see Your hand,

Guiding in my decision,

And my actions with precision.

I know through all the seasons,

That You have Your reasons,

And You have made me glad,

I'll try not to make You mad.

You put the pieces together,

Even with the weather.

You have finally told me what to do,

Thank You.

In reference to an earlier poem:

About That Wall

So about that wall, it's turned into a hall,

with me and my love waltzing round and round.

I was trying to get around, when I was lifted off the ground,

and placed gently on the other side.

Now I'm on the other side, when before I sat and cried,

trying to do it myself and failing miserably.

I understand, it couldn't be by my hand,

I had to wait for God to clear the path.

Though it's not what I would elect, it was there to protect,

there was a reason I encountered the wall.

Maybe to test me, but now it's blessed me,

I know it will be worth the wait.

Dreaming of Reality

Is this an illusion, or is it for real?

What will happen when I say how I feel?

Am I right? Is what I think true?

That maybe, just maybe, you're in love with me too?

Because, you know, I have hope for tomorrow,

But I also fear that it might end in sorrow.

For all I know, it's just all in my head,

a dream to which imagination has lead.

I really hope that's not the case,

because I long to see your face,

Smiling at me with that look of love,

as God is working up above.

Home

Misty mountains and skies of blue,

living in a paradise true,

but there's something missing,

no one's listening.

Each day I'm swarmed,

my heart is warmed,

but still something's lacking,

I'm ready to start packing.

Home is where the heart is,

and the funny part is,

my heart isn't here,

I'm waiting for the coming year.

My Summer

Brilliant blues and gorgeous greens,

could I ever explain what it means?

The shade of trees and gentle breeze,

Water splash and sand castle crash.

Thunder rumble, children tumble,

Sun shining, rock climbing.

Paddle practice, nailing lattice,

Phone calls and shopping malls.

Children shout and digging out

The kitchen floor.

Oh It's Okay (re: Ian's finding out about my feelings)

I didn't expect it to happen this way,

but it seems that everything is okay.

It wasn't what I planned,

but I don't get to make demands.

I guess that's how it was meant to be,

for reasons only half understood by me,

If that.

My feelings now are less passionate,

but more compassionate.

I have a patience in this formerly unknown to myself.

I'm waiting for you to put your pride on the shelf, because you can't do it yourself.

But that's fine,

all things in good time.

And if it's not meant to be,

then what are God's plans for me?

Thanka-lanks. But in my personal opinion i think they stink.*drops topic*

I've only seen one of your poems that I remember, and that one was really good! I can't really way whether mine are good or not, it's all opinion, really. I've had people say the like them, and one person told me anonymously that they're not very good. But I don't really care either way, I write because I enjoy it, and I don't really care who likes it and who doesn't.

this poem was inspired in part by the music I'm listening to right now: Piano Cascades by Dan Gibson (for those who care to look it up, Phil found the sheet music in just a few minutes)

Waltzing in my Mind

Waltzing in my mind,

To songs of a kind,

That I know you'd enjoy.

A girl and a boy,

That's what we are,

We've both come so far,

Are we meant to be?

I'll wait and see,

Because God keeps changing my plans on me.

Falling vs. Standing

Falling in love, I'm not sure I like that.

Rising above, facing the challenges,

Standing in love, now that sounds better.

In love I stand strong,

"In sickness and health,

In poorness and wealth."

I hope not to falter, to and from the alter.

My steps will be sure, my intentions pure,

I hope never to fall, but instead stand tall.

Forward and Back

Looking forward, looking back,

the things in my mind, far from the back,

Thoughts are whirling all around,

triggered by sights, smells, or sounds.

Where am I going, from whence have I come?

Maybe I'm just being dumb.

Of course you probably don't know,

how I wish we didn't have to go,

so many miles away from each other,

or how you're not "just like a brother."

Much of what is in the way,

is just the price of gasoline to pay (oh, and a driver's liscence).

Somehow it all just seems to fit,

but will you be willing to go with it?

Peculiar Mind

Your eyes captivate me,

and your mind fascinates me.

I don't understand you,

but I do.

Like a puzzle,

I want to put the pieces together,

some of them are there,

but why don't you like sunny weather?

There's more to you than meets the eye,

and the days you nearly cry,

I wonder why, as I stand by,

but there's not much I can do,

except talk to you.

Sometimes it makes me want to cry too.

To Wait

To wait, perchance to see,

Just what God has in store for me.

To give, perchance to take,

hoping that my heart won't break.

I wander, hoping to arrive,

waiting to feel truly alive.

So I wait, and look to the sky,

waiting for God to tell me why.

spectacular.

This topic is lacking in my poetry. I finally wrote two tonight.

"How"

Sometimes I wonder,

how life will go on.

Not if, but how.

Because life always goes on,

things work their way out,

but what method? What way?

How will things go today?

And what of tomorrow?

Will it be like yesterday?

"Shifting"

My world is shifting,

My mind is drifting.

I'm not sure what to make of this.

To be happy or sad,

Apathetic or mad.

My story goes on,

but pieces seem to be starting over from scratch.

Things go so far,

and suddenly stop.

Why? I wish I knew.

And starting again,

will it be the same?

Or by comparison lame?

So I hold my head high,

I at least have to try.

I'm waiting to see what happens.

So, we had to write poems with this specific format for one of my classes. I kinda liked it, so here you go:

Dining Hall

Wander through the hungry masses

Smell of burning oil

Don’t want to be late for classes

See the workers toil

Smell of burning oil

Is there anything edible today?

See the workers toil

She’ll eat sushi, come what may

Is there anything edible today?

I see pizza, grab a slice

She’ll eat sushi, come what may

Today the fries look pretty nice

I see pizza, grab a slice

Don’t want to be late for classes

Today the fries look pretty nice

Wander through the hungry masses

Continuum

I thought I was starting over again.

I know that isn't true.

So now I sit here wondering,

Will I ever get over you?

There are no new beginnings,

There will never be an end.

And we can only hope,

That time our wounds will mend.

Past is tied to present,

As morning is to night.

So we sit here wondering,

Trying to get it right.

I live my life in constant hope

That I will like God's plan.

Until then I'll watch and wait

As best as I possibly can.

We are getting lots and lots of great poetry. You have outdone yourself on this one.

Thanks :)

Although I have to say that for me, at least, poetry isn't something that takes any great deal of work or effort. It's something that just comes to you. Most of my poems, they only take about 10 minutes to write. I look over them when I'm done to fix typos and the like, but very rarely will I ever make changes to my poems once they're written. Usually, writing poetry takes less effort than getting myself ready for class in the morning.

lol both, and the fact that most of the poetry I write comes naturally. It's not a concentrated effort.

Seek the Sunny Side

I know that you're not feeling glad,

But wait! There's more!

It's not all bad!

You lost what means the most to you,

That really sucks,

and you're feeling blue.

But look around,

there's so much more,

wonders abound,

joys galore!

Soak up everything you find,

change your perspective,

it's all in the mind.

See the beauty in a rainy day,

learn to smile when clouds are gray.

When life feels like it's about to end,

always know that you've got a friend.

Seek the joy in sleeping late,

know some things are left to fate.

Marvel at the starry skies,

notice just how fast time flies.

When you think the day is done,

know another's just begun.

Waiting to See

I'm waiting to see what happens,

but what am I waiting for?

Is it for someone to make a move,

or is it for something more?

Will something happen that rocks the world,

or someone new enter my life?

Will there be something that causes joy,

or will I encounter strife?

What sorts of things will people do?

And what paths will they take?

Will they walk away from me,

or will they my future make?

Edge

Something seems wrong,

now is that true?

Something seems wrong,

I've been thinking of you.

Things are strange,

I watch time change,

Not quite sure what to do.

We're all on edge,

The past we dredge,

is starting to drive us insane,

but still make sense

of our world today.

Looking forward,

looking back,

at memories we dare to track.

Uncertainty takes it's toll,

Eyes will roll,

As we leap over yet another hurdle.

The delicate balance,

We try to maintain,

Do what we can

To reduce the strain.

Waiting to see just how it ends,

While in the mean time,

Sanity bends.

Once again not my best work, but whatever.

Infatuation

Like a cheesy cliche,

I have butterflies in my stomach.

He's been on my mind all day,

Been awhile since I felt this way.

I'm happy just to have a chance,

To look at those eyes

Twirling round as he danced,

A pleasant surprise,

A possible romance.

Thanks. ^_^ Most of my poems have been a bit jumbled lately. This time it was partly because I had to leave for dinner, so I was a bit rushed. >_<

Hours in the Night

Why can't I add more hours to the day,

Or, more specifically, the night?

Because I'm hoping with all my might,

That something will click today.

I saw rainbows in the sky,

Signs of a promise,

When things run amiss,

I don't have to cry.

Everything will work out right,

All in good time,

The clock chimes,

Too bad I can't lengthen the night.

The first two lines from this poem are something I just said to Phil.

Well, after those two lines I said that I feel like my choir director who always says "My clock goes around faster than anyone else's...." to which he responded with "lol" or something along those lines. And then I told him I had to go to sleep because of morning classes and we both said good night.

Here's the poem I wrote based off of what I said that he said I should make a poem out of. Like that sentence makes any grammatical sense. Whatever.

Reason

Enough of the wondering,

now I know why,

it never worked out with another guy.

I knew there was a reason,

"to each its own season"

but I didn't know what it was.

Now I know what I thought might be true:

That reason is you.

Here's another poem written for teh Phil. It's oh-so-creatively titled "I Love You."

Talking to you was the highlight of my day,

and no one else makes me feel this way.

You really are something quite special.

Do you know how much you mean to me?

I'm counting the days until we're free.

Soon, but never soon enough.

We're separated by so many miles,

but my friends tease me about my smiles,

because they know they're because of you.

I love you, I miss you, and I can't wait to see you.

Good Night

The grin on my face spans ear to ear,

despite the fact that you're not here.

I hate it when you have to go,

because, you know, I love you so,

but the smile's still there,

and I know that you care.

So I go to sleep without sorrow,

and I know that I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Yeah. ^_^ I think Phil probably makes me happier than any other person. I had my webcam on last night because I was doing work and couldn't really IM him so much. But he doesn't have a webcam. So I can see him, but he can't see me, so we still have the text box open to talk. And every once in awhile he would see that I was frustrated with my work, and would say something just to make me laugh. At one point in time, he said, "SMILE MOAR!!!!! :D "

I think Phil will probably buy one sometime this summer. You can get them for about $20, so it's not too expensive. My roomie's computer has a webcam built into it. Actually, that's why I have a webcam. When she got her new computer, she didn't need her old one (which plugs into a USB port), so she gave it to me. ^_^

This isn't my best work poetically, but it's what's on my mind.

Miracle

And who would have thought that I'd be missing someone I so rarely see,

That I'd be counting down the days until he's close to me.

That he'd put so much joy in my life,

be able to erase all the strife.

And I know he feels the same way,

And with smiles we end the day,

Because the love we feel is not our own,

But a shared love, and it's more than we could have ever asked for.

And I thank God for it every day,

And it must have been His work, I'm sure,

because what we have is nothing short of a miracle.

Yeah. Dad's not looking forward to that. But if we can fix it, that'll be great, because having it fixed by a mechanic or buying a new engine would probably cost more than the car did in the first place.

Love and Happiness (I actually wrote the last line in this poem seconds before Phil IM'd me)

Love and Happiness,

can they be defined?

Love and Happiness,

that's what I find,

when I look into your eyes,

hear your voice,

and time flies.

We always know,

our words are true,

and it makes things better,

gray skies turn blue.

This poem is partially inspired by a conversation I had with Marius (although the poem itself is, as I'm sure you expected, about Phil). Marius is really frustrated because he feels empty and doesn't have anyone, despite the fact that he's tried everything. But he doesn't buy the whole "God has a plan" thing that's kept me sane so far. And I can give him advice, but he won't listen to what I think is my most helpful advice, which is to trust God. Not that I expect him to take advice like that, because most people don't, but it gets frustrating when I have what is to me a very simple and effective solution, and he just doesn't get it. So here's my sentiments:

No Coincidence

I'm so lucky to have you,

but it wasn't luck that brought me to you.

It's something bigger than both of us,

Something in whom we trust.

This is no coincidence,

I see from our past incidents.

No, I think this was planned,

across our entire lives it's spanned.

Most people don't have this,

To see the positive end of things run amiss.

Because our past made us who we are.

It wasn't all fun, but we've gotten this far.

I know our trials make us stronger,

and knowing this, I hold out longer.

I can see the reasons,

why I've waited for so many seasons.

It was to get me to where I needed to be,

and to show me what I needed to see,

in order to understand what I've got.

And now I know, that it's quite a lot.

So this is what I think is true:

it's no chance that I've got you.

You do write wonderful poetry. As Marius has different beliefs than you do, he probably will never follow the 'God has a plan' line of thinking.

The fact that you and Phil have found each other is wonderful. Marius will find the true love of his life, it just might not be immediate. It might

take a month, a year or a decade, but he will find his true love. Hopefully you can just be there as his friend until the right person enters his life.

Aw, thank you! ^_^ I'm fully aware that Marius will never follow the same line of thinking, but it's hard because when I give people advice, I generally tell them what works for me, and trusting God is what works for me. And I hope Marius finds someone. He's such a great guy, it amazes me that he's still single. Although on the other hand, he's so strange that it's hard for him to find someone he's compatible with. And I can sympathize with him there. I'm probably the strangest person I know, and it took me 20 years to even be in a relationship. He's been in several. Although the vast majority of his relationships I think weren't really meaningful. It's also hard for Marius because he sees all the people around him in happy relationships, and he wants what we have. And he doesn't know what to do about it. Because he's tried sitting around waiting for it, and that hasn't worked. And he's tried actually trying and working for it, and that didn't work either. So now he's kinda depressed.

This is the poem inspired by my stupidity that I explained in my topic. As such, it's aptly named "I'm Stupid."

Why do I worry, when I have nothing to fear?

Why am I hurried, when the time isn't near?

I miss you like mad, but I shouldn't be sad,

I know if you could be, you would be here with me.

Life comes up and I understand,

and my mind is getting out of hand.

I need to clear the clutter from my brain,

and remember the sun shines behind the rain.

Sometimes the fog clouds my vision,

But then the sun comes out and warms my face,

even if it's only for a moment.

I don't know why I forget that you care,

because you're my sunshine,

and you're always there.

lol thanks. :) I haven't quite decided whether to share this one with Phil or not. I figure I probably should, because he does kinda have a right to know what's going on in my mind, but I also don't want to make him feel bad or worry, because he's probably stressed enough as it is.

lol I sent the poem to Phil in a facebook message (usually I post these in notes for all to see, but I didn't want people harassing me about it). And when we were on maplestory I told him I wrote a poem and sent it to him on facebook. So he said something like, "o.o *goes to look*" and I told him that it was short. After reading it, he came back and said, "short, sweet, and to the point ^_^ <3333333333333" or something to that effect. ^_^

"Speechless"

Sometimes my words fail me,

and I don't know what to say.

The words just won't come out,

and the seconds slip away.

So I say something short and generic,

something just to say.

And when those moments happen,

you should know I feel this way:

Anything words could express,

could not explain my mind,

I think you're quite amazing,

the best I could ever find.

And then there are those moments

when I talk to you,

they steal my words away,

because I know you love me too.

All the small things that you do,

they brighten up my day.

And when I try to tell you this,

my words all slip away.

Those times when I am quiet,

my heart and brain will race,

perhaps what I am thinking

is expressed upon on my face.

my heart and brain will race,

perhaps what I am thinking

is expressed upon on my face.

:D:D:D

Nice!

What's on My Mind

Something is on my mind,

though I'm not sure what it is.

Part is that I know he's mine,

and I know that I am his.

And that he's the only

one I ever want to kiss.

I think about how I felt

when we were apart.

How we can act so silly,

even though we're smart.

And that this seems right

with both my brain and my heart.

I marvel at all of this,

it's all a gift from above.

I guess to put it simply,

what's on my mind is love.

And I'll give you guys the same end note I put on facebook: (And before people jump on me, yes, I'm totally aware of how idealistic this sounds, etc. So shoot me. I love my boyfriend. It's what was on my mind, so it got put into a poem. ^_^ Also, I'm tired, so this probably sounds a lot more....*attempts to find the right word* snippy? than it probably should. Tact takes a serious hit when I'm tired. XD )

(for some reason my friends (usually Ian) tend to fear that I've become disillusioned or "in love with love" or something like that, when in fact that I'm quite realistic about things, and fully aware that our relationship is only almost three months old, nothing will ever go perfectly, and all that other fun stuff. Actually, I think I'm going to modify and add this end note to the end note to my facebook note )

Being in love with love is not a bad thing, it just makes love even better.

Great poem!

Thanks! ^_^ The problem is that some people idealize love, and get crazy ideas about love, relationships, and people that aren't true all the time, and then find themselves let down. Or they end up in a relationship with someone that's not right for them because they're more in love with the idea of love than with the person they're supposedly in love with. And then they expect everything to be like a fairy tale. And life (love included) is not like a fairy tale. Eventually, there will be disagreements and confusion and hard times. People who idealize love have a hard time when those things happen, and the really disillusioned ones might even end the relationship over something stupid (If I recall correctly, Phil's ex ended their relationship over something stupid, like him not wanting to go home for the weekend (which, given the rules his grandparents give him, you can't really blame him for), and the way he found out is that her facebook relationship status was changed to "single" <_< Whether it was because she was too idealistic or not, I don't know. She was a drama queen, and obviously didn't know what she was giving up. ). People who are more realistic know it's part of life and deal with it. At the moment, my relationship with Phil is perfect, outside of not being able to see him as often as I would like (but like I said, we deal with it). There's some confusion, but it's never a big deal, and it's mostly my brain getting carried away with itself, and that doesn't really happen so much anymore. And we have yet to have an argument. The only things I can really think of that we don't agree on involve food (he likes spicy food and I don't, and he likes ketchup but not tomatoes, whereas I like tomatoes but not ketchup) It's almost creepy how much we don't disagree on things. But, our relationship is still young (It'll be 3 months on Friday), and I know that things happen. Obviously I don't hope anything bad will happen, but I know these things are part of life, and won't be shocked and horrified when they do.

lol wall of text.

You are so right. Then there are the females that view the male and see 'how they can make him perfect, if they just change a couple things'. What????? :o This is the most ridiculous pattern of thought. Then they wonder why neither of them is ever happy.

Sounds like Phil's girlfriend made such a big mistake and things worked out for the best for both of you. If and when you have a disagreement, I am certain it will be nothing major and you both with work it out.

Yep. You can't change people that don't want to be changed. In all reality, I don't think Phil's ex was a good match for him at all. Interesting though, she was the one that was dating the guy I had a crush on in middle school, so I guess we have the same taste in men. And yeah, I think we'll handle disagreements okay. We're both stubborn, but we're also both pretty laid back about most things, and we both tend to be willing to let the other do what they want to do. There's a lot of "What do you want to do?" "Doesn't matter to me, you pick something."

Wow, it's been awhile. Anyways, new poem. Aside from the obvious inspiration of Phil this was also partially inspired by one of my friends talking about her little sister fighting with her boyfriend, and some random girl who was arguing with her apparently drunk boyfriend on the phone for hours right outside my door. Phil and I don't fight over things, and we never give each other anything to fight over.

Long Distance

I look around me,

and what I see,

is that I've been truly blessed.

And you should know,

that you've shown,

you're better than the rest.

We're far apart,

but close at heart,

our brains seem wired together.

Despite the miles

we still share smiles,

But these weeks will seem like forever.

Here's some of my special, hot, just from the oven muffins. Totally healthy, but incredibly tasty!

You Have My Heart

Is it bad you're all I think about,

that you're my only dream?

That when I have to leave you,

tears form a steady stream?

The simplest things remind me,

of the random jokes we share,

and little things that show me

just how much you care.

I think how God has blessed me,

to me you are a gift.

Just being able to talk to you,

it gives my day a lift.

And I think that you should know,

even though we are apart,

that I'm not really gone,

because you have my heart.

So, tiredness + thinking about Phil + not wanting to do work = more poetry! They styling on this one isn't great, but it's what's on my mind. I think I'm gonna wait awhile before I show Phil this one though, because I don't want to put any unnecessary pressure on him.

Together

As time goes on I begin to see

that you're becoming part of me.

The each time we say "good bye,"

it makes me hope for a time

when "good byes" come a long time after "hellos."

When saying "good night" doesn't'' mean driving away.

When "home" can truly be where my heart is.

And I hope there comes a day,

when you will look at me and say,

that if I'll be yours, then you'll be mine.

Actually I don't believe that would put pressure on him as I think he feels the same way as you do.

To me it was an expression of how much you care about him.

I think he feels the same way too, but I also know that he's the type to worry too much about things, and he likes to make people happy, so I won't want him to feel pressured into going out and buying an engagement ring or something like that. Not that I would mind (I'd be thrilled), but he has too many other things to worry about right now, let alone my wanting him to propose to me. I want to take this relationship at a pace he's comfortable with, and not rush him into anything. I'm pretty sure that if I show him this poem, he'll look at it and realize it's basically me saying I want to spend the rest of my life with him, and then he'll feel he has to act on it as soon as possible to keep me happy, or something silly like that. Not that he won't see it as an expression of how much I care about him, but he's just that type of person to stress over something like that.

Another poem in here is long overdue (as is my going to sleep)

Two Halves Make a Whole

No matter how far apart we move,

you still make my life improve.

The weather outside is freezing cold,

but hearing "I love you" never gets old,

and saying the same brings me such joy,

because I know you're more than "just a boy."

And I know that something we share,

is that when we part our hearts both tear.

We have weekends and breaks as our common goal,

and despite being torn our two hearts are still whole,

The torn part of your heart is with me,

and my part is with thee,

and eventually I know that together we'll be.

I sent this poem to Phil last night:

They say that home is where the heart is

My home, it isn't here,

Even though I've lived here for over twenty years.

This was once my refuge place,

my favorite place on earth.

But now to me the walls and floors hold little worth.

My home is now quite portable,

though often far away,

and sadly I cannot go home every day.

As by now I'm sure you've guessed,

that my home is you, you know.

Within your arms instead of walls my happiness did grow.

Apartment, house, or cardboard box,

Antarctica or Rome,

As long as I'm with you,

I will be at home.

It's been awhile; this poem holds a somewhat different sentiment from the others, as I'm sure you can guess. It's called "Frustration," and it's kinda long and ranty.

Loved you once,

love you still.

I ignore your faults

against my will.

I thought I was free,

I guess I'm not,

just so you know,

that's my heart you've got.

It breaks my heart,

to see you sad,

and I don't want

to make you mad.

I want to help,

you push me out,

and my heart

will scream and shout.

So I say,

it's okay,

and hope for a better day.

But come what may,

I'm not okay,

I want to fix things today.

I'm not as patient as people think,

when these things happen my mood will sink.

We both may try,

but I still cry,

and yet I can't give up and die.

I guess I'm somehow still in love,

and I seek counsel from above.

I want to talk and brighten your day,

but I'm always pushed away.

And I often long for your touch,

but you don't seem to care that much.

I don't know what to do,

I just want to be with you.

To see your smiling face,

and your features trace,

to feel that warm embrace.

This used to be “warm and fuzzy,”

but now it's just cold and muddy.

I don't know if you feel the same way,

I've sort of asked but you never say.

I wish there was something I could do,

to maybe bring back joy anew,

but you won't even give me a clue.

The things you do,

I take them to heart,

and wonder if we

can ever restart.

Though the words may sound hollow,

my sentiment I'm sure you'll follow.

I love you, I miss you,

and how I long to kiss you!

I want to have our closeness back,

where happiness didn't lack.

I want you to feel peace and love,

and have wisdom from above.

I want to show you so many things,

if you would only spread your wings.

I don't know what is holding you back,

a certain faith you seem to lack?

Without you it's hard to cope,

yet something in me still has hope.

You should know that I am scared,

and here you have my feelings bared.

On you my joy should not depend,

but right now my heart won't mend.

I'm sure this isn't without cause,

suppose it's one of love's flaws.

I guess I can never win,

if you never let me in.

Troubled with you,

depressed without,

it seems to me,

I've no way out.

I do not know just how you feel,

or if this will make your head reel.

I'm experiencing frustration, desperation,

and hoping for a different sensation.

Even though you don't seem near,

you know full well that I'm still here.

So flames in my heart continue to burn,

while I await your return.

If that's ranting, your rants are phenomenal!!!!!!!!

Amazing writing and a great vent for your emotions.

lol thanks. I'm not sure I want to show it to Phil just yet. I'm considering resuming our relationship, but on a really low-key and slow level, because the whole being on a break thing, as you see, isn't working out so great for me emotionally. It's something I want to talk about with him in person though so I can get a real response from him, but again, with the business and bad moods making that impossible.

Although this is tough for you, you sound like you have made some very good decisions as far as your relationship goes. Let's see how Phil reacts when he sees you aren't on Maplestory.

Yeah, the more time passes, the less optimistic I become. I don't know what he expects to happen as a result of how he's acting, but the probability of me taking him back is falling pretty quickly.

Unfortunately it is very easy to retreat into yourself and not do anything. Then when you do decide to pick up where you left off, the world has gotten on with it's life and passed you by. Hopefully Phil will get his head out of the sand soon.

History

History repeats itself,

so put your pride upon the shelf

Put your energy where it matters

or watch as hearts shatter

Ten years for now will this be worthwhile?

Or will you think you should have walked a different mile?

Seeking wisdom makes you stronger,

not holding out a little longer.

Open your eyes and maybe you'll see,

most fears are not reality.

Though scars remain,

your heart can heal,

so don't let your past

your future seal.

Sometimes your poetry is too accurate. This is one of those poems.

Thanks. I posted this one up on facebook too, though I'm not sure who saw it, since there were no comments on it. To be fair, I did post it at like 7am.

I am certain you will get comments. It is very direct and should touch some people all the way through to their core.
