GUESS WHO GOT UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE TO DALHOUSIE UNIVERSITY!!!

give up yet?

KEP DID!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I'm super excited. The uni is in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, by the by. XD Halifax has really chilly winters (that is the understatement of the year), but pretty summers.

In four years, Kep's gonna have a Bachelors of Neuroscience with Honours, with a minor in Commerce. XD Oh my gosh, that sounds so important. Ahaha!

Also, I've made a full recovery on the Fred situation, and am back to dreaming about a boy I refer to as The Cellist, whom I met in orchestra, a year and a half ago. He started talking to me online recently, hence the reconsideration. XD Haha. Rebound? Definitely a little bit. But it's all good. Apparently Fred, on the other hand, told my best friend that he misses me, that he's lonely, that he wants to see me. (Fat chance.) And I guess last night he drank himself into oblivion, and, consequently, has concerns about the state of his liver. Okay, I admit that I hope he doesn't do anything stupid to his liver. Your liver does 451 jobs for your body, and god knows Fred should take better care of his. But, secretly, I only feel stronger knowing that he's unhappy.

So, all in all, things are fantabulous.

WUBBLES!

She was a happy girl the day that she left me.

Congratumalations!

I wanna get a full scholarship for free to some great university, and get free rooming as well, but that will DEFINITELY happen. xD

You are looking at this the wrong way...

*see above for the right way to look at it*

Make it happen!!! :)

Of course!!!!!!!!!!!! Road tripping is such a stellar experience.

Give me some ideas of what thoughts are running around your mind.

I always have lots of crazy ideas and then some sage hammie advice.

#1 Two giant sized cans of Fix-A-Flat! (These are a must.) Yes I do speak from experience. LOL

well, I need to get from calgary to halifax, so it'll probably just mean following the trans-can.

I want to stay in hostels as much as possible, because they're nice and cheap! :)

the plan is to sell my current car (ahh! my baby! *despair*) and get one for >$10K that doesn't require premium gas.

(I'm not sure which potential replacements to look at... any suggestions for a good, solid, reliable vehicle that'll last a cross-canada road trip and handles well in the winter??)

Then put the rest of the money I get from selling mine in a savings account to go towards buying a better car once I'm out of uni. (I <3 mine. I'll be sad to sell it.)

depending on how much stuff I take, I'll hopefully be able to just put it in the trunk. Worst comes to worst, I can ship the rest.

Probably going through major cities, and that'll be great for the sight-seeing bits.

not sure how long this'll take me. I'm guessing about a little more than a week. any idea?

that's basically all I've thought of so far. X.X;;;

sagely hammie advice?? <3

The first thing I would do is talk with your parents about selling your car. When you sell your car and you buy a car that is used, you have no idea how it was maintained. I do not think buying a used car and traveling cross country is such a great idea. Talk with your parents. It might be wiser to sell your car when you arrive at your destination. As for having to put in premium gas, this is a terrific thing. Once at school, putting in premium gas will keep you from driving all over the place with your new friends. LOL

Now for the road trip. You will need some things for the car and these are a must. You need a couple cans of fix-a flat, the super-giant size. You need a couple gallons of water. A blanket and small first aid kit. Jumper cables and if your parents have the Canadian version of AAA (or some type auto rescue service), it would be good to make sure you are on the list at least for your trip. You will have to think about when you are making your trip. You want to keep a quart of oil and a flashlight in your trip kit. Your father should be able to help you with any other item he thinks is necessary.

Now for more safety tips. Never walk out to your car in an unfamiliar area without being totally aware of who and what is around you. If you feel uncomfortable, then go back into the building where you were leaving and ask for someone to escort you. If someone approaches you, and wants your car... throw your keys as far away as possible and run back to a safe place. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER get into your car without looking into the back seat. If it is at night, always leave the interior light in the on position when you start to open your door. This way the light will illuminate the back seat and floor and you can look to see if you have any unwanted visitors. Of course, as your back seat will probably be packed full, this should not be a problem. It is best to keep your travel limited to daylight hours. Of course, this sometimes is hard, but I would have a really good idea of where the hostels are and how to get there. You can always call them first and ask them about the neighborhood. When you do go into the hostel, only take only those items you would not be upset if you had stolen. Of course, this may never happen, but the first time it does, if it was something important, you will be very upset. As for any important papers, cards, etc. your parents can FedEx (LOL) what you need and be secure in knowing it will arrive for you.

Okay, I am a little scattered, but I will get my thoughts together and present them better.

EXTENDED ESSAY VICTORY IS MIIIINNNNEEEE!!!!!!!!

So... I had to write this paper for school that is essentially a 4000 word thesis on a topic of my choice. And... I procrastinated really badly on it, and finally finished it just in time to send it off to wales, or new zealand, or some far off country to be graded, this morning.

My paper was on multiple sclerosis and something called glycopharmacology, which is the development of carbohydrate-based drugs.

...I wouldn't be surprised if that goes over your heads. XD It was a complicated topic, but my paper turned out beautifully.

AND NOW I CAN ACTUALLY GO TO SLEEP AT NIGHT INSTEAD OF WORKING ON IT.

So I am happy.

I'm sleep deprived to the point of delirium, but that's okay. XD

almost at 100 pages in Kepdom. ^^

You are so very talented and sometimes working under pressure helps for being able to better focus.

Glad to hear you are pleased with the results.

I include size in my definition of font...

And the type of lettering can make a difference as well.

That's a lot to write. :o

pff. 1.5 spacing? That is lame. The cool kids use double spacing. and lose points.

Here's a little story for you all:

For a while, Jascha Heifetz* had a page turner who was absolutely terrified of him. The only things they said to one another were, "Good morning," and "Good bye." One day, the page turner mustered the courage to say to Heifetz, "I really enjoyed hearing what you just played," (or some such), and Heifetz's response was, "OH, SO I FINALLY PLAYED SOMETHING YOU LIKED."

The two never spoke to one another again.

I think the moral of this story is clear. ;)

*note, if you don't know who Jascha Heifetz is... look him up! He was the greatest violinist to ever grace the planet, and you should all listen to some of his recordings. :)

I heard there were no surviving recordings of Paganini playing, so I can't make a personal preference judgement on his playing itself, though his pieces are undeniably brilliant. XD But yes, good point. Paganini was...I can't even say 'godly' as I can with Heifetz. XD Paganini, I've been told, was a devil - and a lot of people in his time thought so, too. But he was a devil in the exciting way, and he definitely took joy in writing those pieces that absolutely mock us violinists with strings that are organized in an arch. Do you play, Horatio?

wow. Holy hiatus, batman!

Sorry for the disappearing act, guys. I guess I have a knack for that, eh?

So, here I am on the sunny coast, at university. It is great fun, to say the least. Good dorm mates (but single room!), good food, good classes, good everything! I joined the swing dance society, (which is SO MUCH FUN) and the science society (I already have a place on a committee!), and this Polish folk dance group that isn't through the school. First meeting of the Polish folk dance tonight, and I'm pretty excited. They also want me to play my violin in it as well as dance, and it's going to be such a great opportunity. There's even talk of a trip to Poland in 2008 to attend a festival there! Which would be awesome. I'm thinking there's bound to be someone there who can teach me, or show me where to be taught, how to speak my own language, which will be great, because right now I'm limited to random food words, random colour words, and the things I say to my romanian boy (I miss you, I love you, etc.)

Basically everything is wonderful, everything is going where I want it to be going in my life. Have a multitude of jobs lined up for me next summer when I go back home, including a teaching job for violin at one of the colleges just outside the city. Group classes, leading a chamber group, summer day camps, that sort of deal. Appying for research job with national research council.

Boy is wonderful and coming out to visit me for the november long weekend.

Life is good.

That's pretty much the reader's digest version of the update for my life. XD

I missed you all!!
