Kep Posted August 22, 2005 Author Report Share Posted August 22, 2005 allo all. there seems to be no real topic of conversation going on right now, so I thought I'd drop by and give you an update. I finally nabbed Going Postal from the library (JOY!), as it's not out in paperback here, yet, and the hardcover costs $40.00 CDN. Anyway, is it just me, or are chapters in PTerry books the weirdest thing ever? So. that's fabulous. I have an audition with the youth orchestra on september 9th. Excited, nervous, anxious, etc. I saw the National Youth Orchestra of Canada play here during their canada tour just a few weeks ago. It was...amazing. And it's fairly big, at 100 seats. It's got the best orchestral training in our country, better than any of our universities, and the training is only for four weeks in the summer. (Followed by performances). Anyway. Auditions come to my town for that in...january? I think. Definitely going to try. Now that would be a dream come true. On the subject of performances... I'm playing at a garden party with a group of other students on saturday. Some influential people will be there, so wish me good luck and a good performance! ^^ Pinchas Zukerman is coming to town! *dance* I almost went to Ottawa to hear him play. ...-.-; and of course none of you know who that is. Violinist. Very good one. I'm going. Wednesday night. :S School night. starts at 8. Thursdays I have to get up at 5:45... >.> Oh well. I'll skip choir. It'll be so worth it. Next topic: I finally went out and bought Buffy, season 4. I wanted season 5, but...alas, no season 5. Only 4. I am such a nerd. Anyway. The night I got it, I buffied myself to death. I watched it until I couldn't stant even the thought of buffy. I've given myself 3 or 4 days to recover before resuming consumption at a more natural rate. Love for some is a most wonderful life experience which does not include hurt to the extent of "ripping your guts out". I do hope you find such a magnificient love in your life. Anyway, is it just me, or are chapters in PTerry books the weirdest thing ever? So. that's fabulous. I have an audition with the youth orchestra on september 9th. Excited, nervous, anxious, etc. I saw the National Youth Orchestra of Canada play here during their canada tour just a few weeks ago. It was...amazing. And it's fairly big, at 100 seats. It's got the best orchestral training in our country, better than any of our universities, and the training is only for four weeks in the summer. (Followed by performances). Anyway. Auditions come to my town for that in...january? I think. Definitely going to try. Now that would be a dream come true. On the subject of performances... I'm playing at a garden party with a group of other students on saturday. Some influential people will be there, so wish me good luck and a good performance! ^^ Pinchas Zukerman is coming to town! *dance* I almost went to Ottawa to hear him play. ...-.-; and of course none of you know who that is. Violinist. Very good one. I'm going. Wednesday night. :S School night. starts at 8. Thursdays I have to get up at 5:45... >.> Oh well. I'll skip choir. It'll be so worth it. Next topic: I finally went out and bought Buffy, season 4. I wanted season 5, but...alas, no season 5. Only 4. I am such a nerd. Anyway. The night I got it, I buffied myself to death. I watched it until I couldn't stant even the thought of buffy. I've given myself 3 or 4 days to recover before resuming consumption at a more natural rate. "I've been thinking a lot about the life of a pumpkin, lately. You grow up in the sun, entwined with others, and then, one day, someone comes along and...rips your guts out." Doesn't that just sound like love? Anyway, I'm off. Possibly back later. Going to globalfest 2005 on wednesday night. International Fireworks competition. Wednesday is the UK. Hope it's good. Most people are not aware that Paganini played violin as well as wrote music. I love Heifetz as well. I mentioned Yo Yo Ma and no one had any idea who I was talking about, but I still mentioned him. Our centenial celebrations are going to be huge, and exciting, with over 40 000 fireworks being let off all around the province (2 of the locations in my city, one of them set to our phillharmonic orchestra. ^^) The cake being baked for our city alone is... huge, I forget how huge but, wow, is this ever a huge cake. It's going to be great. Our province really has a lot to celebrate this year. I'm going to the festivities with a couple of friends, I'll update you on that (+ a photolog) when I get back. I must admit, they did turn out quite clear, didn't they? Which is excellent, because my camera isn't that good. But for a point-and-shoot, it's pretty fair. 'Cause, well, I don't really like any of the currently available ones. I've minimalized file sizes and such, created some new ones, just generally messing around. All the old prototypes were on my PC, which is downstairs, virus-ridden to the point of no return, and now internet-less. Not to mention the Mac I use now doesn't have a floppy drive. I use a USB thing for that, but in order to use it on the PC, I need certain drivers, which must be downloaded from the internet. Which it doesn't have. Gah. It's such a vicious circle. Luckily I had a few of the hamster chibis on the internet, so I was able to salvage a few. ^^ Anyway, perhaps when I've finished mucking about, and HK finishes with whatever update he's working on now, I'll send a few in? I have a Prime Minister, not a president. I speak English and French, not American. And I pronounce it 'about', not 'a boot'. I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack. I believe in peace keeping, not policing, diversity, not assimilation, and that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal. A toque is a hat, a chesterfield is a couch, and it is pronounced 'zed' not 'zee', 'zed' !!!! Canada is the second largest landmass! The first nation of hockey! and the best part of North America.
