Yay! Yes, it has been waaaay too quiet around here. Which is bad because I'm bored out of y mind and in need of some form of entertainment/communication with people other than my family (whom I love dearly, but three people aren't enough to keep me from going insane). I've had that feeling too. *Tumbleweed rolls by* let's play tumbleweed soccer! Yay tumbleweed soccer! What's the teams? =D Just join in. Okay! *steals the tumbleweed and tries to pass to jesse, but the weed floats away* Aww... *being much faster than a wurm, catches the tumbleweed and covers it with dark chocolate* Hahaha I remember this... I don't! *eats the chocolate tumbleweed* Ack! Weedball! *starts making weird ack noises* *performs the Heimlich maneuver on Glowurm* *gets more tumbleweed and air drops it in the northeast* *adds dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate and fluff* Fluff! *adds strawberries and sprinkles* *puts in chocolate hazelnut spread* Yum!!! Nutella, my favorite. Nutella and marshmellow fluff sandwhiches are really tasty, with some banana slices... And what would those sandwiches be on... graham crackers?
  2. No you won't. We want every single detail. Start typing. ... oh. XD I told my parents about being asked to the dance thing, and they said like 'So why dont you go on with her then?' "well, I dont really like her like that..." "Of course you do. Go tell her you'll be glad to go." ... okay whatever. so I IMed her that I might be able to go, but my parents might have something planned that night, and I'll let her know if I can or not. And after a while shes all like, "Your parents just called and say that you can go. Theres a tuxedo rental place over here and here and its like 80 bucks or something" and she goes on about some tux rentals and getting some matching ties and such for her dress. I dont officially have a girlfriend, so theres no reason not to go... And since I'm already comitted to go, I cant really back out (from what I hear, that really sticks with the girl if her date backs out of a prom) so thats... what I get to do on the 20th. Whether in hammie or human life, it is amazing how parents can always somehow get involved in the relationship side of your life. LOL And on top of this, they really know what your personal feelings are. Oh really!?!?!?! *wonders how parents know* Or how they think they know. When half of the time they are wrong, but can't be convinced that they are wrong. That's what I was trying to say... how one person thinks they know what is inside you.
  3. Why would they want to golf across a street? Wouldn't that be kind of boring? LOL
  4. You're too critical of yourself. im aware of that. im working on it. im working on it all. its hard for me. That's great!!! Never expect to fix the big things overnight, just small things. All of a sudden it will all come together. its hard. i dont know how to fix myself. expect SEE what i do wrong(but i never will stop forever, just for the second and thats wrong too..) at least im starting to see for the firends ive lost im making new ones. thats helping me out. plus its such a confidence boost to know someone likes you. :]] You are not supposed to know how to fix yourself. When you can see what you are doing wrong and try to stop for a second that is a beginning. You do not set out to stop forever, because somehow that doesn't work. Initially, just stop for a second, then a minute, pretty soon it is an hour, day, week, month, etc.. Having someone who likes you, cares about you is a great boost, but most of all, you need to start liking yourself. You don't have to like everything, but hopefully you will start liking something. i like alot of things. some seen as wrong. some ARE wrong. but some are most certainly NOT WRONG and were made illegal by racism, which is most certainly wrong. but idk.. i like stuff. like colleging and books and candles and music and doodling and deep conversations with jon or brian. i know matt is deep but he doesnt show it enough. hmm.. idk. how do i like MYSELF? i feel like my whole life ive been cut down and told i was wrong and that affected me to grow up and not like myself. In this case, I hope if there is one thing I can help you with is to like yourself and love yourself. Too many times adults can make young people feel bad about themselves when there is absolutely no reason for it. For example, Little League games should ban parents. There are far too many times when a parent belittles their child because he or she struck out. SO WHAT?!?!?!?!? It is only a game. Now the young person has a negative feeling amplified because of a parent. I find the behavior of the parent in that case unacceptable. My outlook is... who cares if you win or lose. Of course winning is good, but if you went out and had a great time, who is going to remember what happened in a game when you were some young age. Of course if a parent belittles the young person, this will be imprinted on them forever. But if the reinforcement was positive, saying 'don't feel bad that you didn't make a home run, the pitcher on the other team was really good' or 'it's okay that the team lost, I think we should all go to Friendly's to celebrate a fun game', then the loss turns into a great outing. Okay... I am blathering, but my hammie parents were so positive that sometimes I think it is not a good thing. It was always, you can do whatever it is you want to do. Just give it a try. They would say things like, there will always be someone richer, thinner, smarter, etc., so be happy with what you have because you look great or are great or something along those lines. Lauren, you are smart, pretty, have talent, a great sense of humor and are very insightful. I think you can accomplish great things in the world to the extent you wish to. Just believe in yourself and you can conquer the universe.
  5. I know you all have wanted to see a picture of me, so here it is...

  9. I dunno, but this is pretty messed up. (of course now that we're all complaining about the lack of cold we're probably going to have a week-long blizzard and God will say, "Hey, you asked for it.") And I will say thanks. xD But it is in the mid-6os, which is horrible and makes me sad. You could always move to Montana or North Dakota! Or even up to Canada with Arkcher. LOL

    My place. :)

Alive? Did they thing you would party yourself into oblivion? LOL And I am sure they KNEW you would do even better than well. I am certain they knew you would excel!!! You're a poet, and you didn't even know it. Yeah, they were all like "Well of course you did well, we all knew you would." Although about mid-semester, I wasn't too sure about that. Yet somehow I managed to pull off a 3.6-something, so I was happy about that. You definitely get The Gold Star Award for that one!!! I hadn't realized it until you pointed it out. Not bad for a blonde hamster. LOL lol Hey, I'm a blonde human, so I think that puts us on roughly the same playing field. Good point. LOL... except somehow I think you are much, much smarter than I am.

  21. The avatar belongs to Cheesemaster, but he has not seen it yet. After he sees it, I have another one I am switching to. I love the Smart Car. They tried to bring it over years ago and people balked... not it is a different matter. I would buy one in a nanosecond. They are just the right size for my cagarage. LOL Let's see what Pelosi can actually accomplish. What I don't like about her is that she cannot let go of a grudge. That, in my book, is a lot of baggage that can get in the way.
  22. The draft... and the reasons for your thinking? Saddam should not have been hung... why? Martyrdom? There is no point to it and it brings danger and risk to those who participate. Also, it breaches the Convention of Human Rights as you are forced to do it, it effectively strips you of your free will. What if you don't want to do it? In France and Germany, then you have to do the alternative of community service, but why should you do that? If you want to join the army, or that the US Army needs more troops then there are more effective ways of enticing them to join than forcing in excess of 2 million high school children to spend time in the army. Why don't they call it "Operation Vietnam?" It would be rather fitting. He was tried for crimes against humanity. Is it not a crime against human life to forcibly take it away? There are also better ways to punish someone. A life time in the same cell, with the same grey, concrete walls can be much worse than a short drop and a sudden stop. Also, as you mentioned, it has instigated a huge amount of protests from the Sunni majority who are doing precisely the opposite to what the Shia dominated government wanted them to do. Rather than uniting Sunni and Shia Muslims, it has only served to drive them further apart. PS The programme I talked about called Spooks, if you remember, is being shown in the USA under the name MI-5 on A&E... whatever that is. I highly recommend you watch it if you have opportunity. Do your feelings about the draft just apply to the USA or would you like to include countries such as Israel, as well. LOL Are you against the death penalty in all cases, or just this one? Personally, solitary confinement would be rather brutal punishment, but then again, they might be afraid that the wrong group in power might pardon Saddam and let him free. No chance of that now. The television stations cut the broadcast short just prior to the actual act of hanging, so I cannot imagine why anyone would want to get on the internet to watch the whole thing. I believe I saw an episode of MI-5. LOL I will have to look for it again. But now... it is time for a cup of coffee. All countries who force their citizens to spend 1 day or 1 year or however long in the army or doing community service against their will. I am against the death penalty in all circumstance, from Genocidal maniacs to a murderer. You may not know about her, by the woman we like to call Myra Hindley or the Moors murderess, went partially insane. She is dead now, serving over half her life in gaol. Surely that is a fate worse than death? A&E appear to have stopped showing it, according to my information, but you can still buy the DVDs from them. Series 5 is the one with the eco-terrorists and the Aftermath document, but that isn't out here yet, so I doubt it will be out over there. It seems that when your posts appear, it is always time for a cup of coffee. I must have known you were coming as I started brewing the coffee and came here. LOL *tapes mouth shut* Community service I do believe is a very good thing. What better way to learn about people less fortunate than yourself but to help them. This extends from being a hospital volunteer, special olympics, etc. to helping clean up wildlife refuges. Community service is a valuable tool to help someone grow hopefully with more compassion for other human beings. I think it is coffee time again. You'd be better off with some Earl Grey though. Free Radicals in the tea help put off dementia and senility you know. Something is unsaid about the death penalty here. I shall not press as to what it is. I believe that community service is an excellent thing, but it should be done on a voluntary basis or in association with school, not as a result of being forced to decide between that or time in the armed forces. Missed the death penalty. Was focusing on the smell of freshly brewed coffee. As for the death penalty, I have mixed emotions. I don't believe I could actually flip the switch and end someone's life, but if that person has committed a crime so heinous and the proof is iron-clad, I would want to make sure the person could not walk out of jail at a later date. One of the problems I have with the justice system is that some people are able to commit murder and then walk free after a set amount years behind bars, when the victim's life was cut short. So, the old saying "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, is a tough one for me. As for community service, many people would never be bothered to help others unless they are forced to. So, I have no problem with having everyone do some community service. Besides, universities weigh very heavily whether or not someone has done community service.
