My parents would probably ground me for life (even though I'm at college, they'd find a way). So today, I had music and society. I love that class. The teacher is hilarious, and seems to have a brain! I spent a good part of the evening playing with a slinky I got at the dollar store, and found out that it works on the stairs that go to to laundry room, but not the normal stairs. I think Marius has it now. He was also thrilled when I gave him lego gummies (yes, they make such things). And Kevin seems really moody today. I'm pretty sure he's going to break up with Christina. (Saw that one coming a loooong time ago). He never spends time with her. I'm closer to my guy friends than they are to each other. And she's such a sweetheart too. She'll either be devastated, or totally cool with it. It should be interesting to see what the next few weeks bring... 1. That's the good thing about security. My cage is not easily found. You can always pretend you are coming, as this makes for great imaginations!!! 2. Grounding, that would not be a good thing. Better to avoid any future problems.

Bold part: I can't do that. Either I accept the scholarship, or I don't. Once I say yes and let myself get sucked into marching + pep band, I can't back out. Even if the obligation is for just one year, I know my parents, if not the college staff, will be like "well, you've done it for one year already, you might as well keep doing it." And it will get harder and harder to say no. If I'm going to make a decision I think it's best that I do it now, instead of trying to reverse things when I'm already in it. The rest: thank you for the advice. Yes, I do worry too much. I guess I got that from my mom. I'll try to have confidence in myself and break out of my comfort zone. I wish I knew why I have such a big problem with being shy. It's like, saying the first thing to someone is the toughest. Maybe if I force myself to do that then eventually it will be easy to talk to that person. You are absolutely right. I do agree with you not to even try out for the scholarship. You will be hating it more than ever. As for being shy, you will find a way out of that. You will have great roommates, friends you make in class and around the campus and other people you meet who will help you begin the conversation without really realizing it. I guarantee that you will have a most wonderful time at school and meet lots of really great people. Look at all the friends you have met at your new school. College is even easier. Once you find one friend, the rest will be beating down your door.

I'm just anxious that Labour stay in power so I can take over the party and become Prime Minister without selling my soul myself to the Tory Party. We can't vote Lib Dem because they are incompetent. We can't vote Conservative because they are even more incompetent and that leaves only Labour. Better the devil... I was thinking the lesser of three evils, personally. Anyway, isn't this US Government topic rather than the UK? Let's see what you have. You have the police getting cheap deals from the US military, a gigantic protest against Iraq, a system which strives to provide no welfare at all and an economy on the edge of a recession - 1929 style. Enjoying yourself? UK: no constitution... shall I continue? LOL UK: Has a constitution, just unwritten and compromising a series of laws, bills and legislation.
