  1. Was up at 03H00 in San Francisco and flew to Indianapolis. It is now 14H30 Indianapolis time, and I have to figure out what to do next. I am getting up at midnight to fly from Indianapolis to Charlotte, North Carolina. At least when I get there, it will be time to go to sleep.
  2. I think you are the lucky one. Say hello to Phil for me. Going to walk around Indianapolis and then get in a workout or jog.
  3. Flying from Oakland, California to Indianapolis, Indiana.
  4. And to think you have been doing it wrong all this time.
  5. Granted, but it would decrease your awesome factor by 50% I wish housework was actually enjoyable. Granted, but you will now have to clean all the houses on your block. I wish Lexxscrapham's corruptions would become 200% more geeky.

Sounds like a great day and a fantastic week with the grandparents away. You will be seeing lots of him this week.
  7. Lucky you! I am flying from Oakland to Indianapolis. Heading into the sun.
  8. Now that is worth an award! *hands TheBreakfastMonkey The Gold Star Award* That is hilarious.
  9. Ooh fun. Fed-ex pays for your hotel stays, I assume? We are cheap airline pilots... they have to pay or else we would be sleeping in the jet. Actually that is one of the great benefits of the job, you get to go to fun places and if the schedule permits, you can do a little sight seeing. For example, we got in last night and do not leave until 04H00 local time Tuesday morning. So, I will have today and tomorrow to have some fun. I've been wanting to ask you this for a while... Do you find it easier being a cargo airline pilot knowing you don't have the lives of hundreds as you would if you were a passanger airline pilot? Don't even consider it. We carry a few 'jumpseaters' (passengers), but even if it is only myself and my first officer, we always have safety as our primary concern which is the same as the passenger airlines. Pilots always err on the side of caution/safety, so what is in the back does not matter. When passengers come into a pilot's consideration is when there are delays, or a deviation to another destination because of weather or mechanical, now you have to advise them of what is happening. Hope this helps. Makes sense to me. Airplane crashes are no fun, regardless of who or what is involved. An airplane crash could ruin your whole day. More than your whole day, I imagine. When dad crashed his ultralight, he was hurting for quite a long time. How painful. Not only to the body, but to the bank account. Glad to know your father was not hurt seriously. Eh, it wasn't too bad overall. He now knows to not fly obsolete weight-shift controlled aircraft. Well, that's one way to learn.
  10. That is so cool! If you have a Borders in your town, you might look at signing up for their Borders buyer program. You give them your email address and you get an email with specials. There are lots of 40% off, 50% off and that can really save you money. In addition, if they don't have a book, they will special order it for you and it will come, untouched by human hands. So they high dollar coffee table book you are buying was not read by some person with greasy fingers, bending the pages. Sounds cool, although I'm more of a Barnes and Noble girl. Thanks for the info... ~Liz You could be a Barnes and Noble girl, but when it comes to spending your money... then you might consider being a "bookstore that saves you the most money" sort of girl. LOL! But I didn't have to spend any money on the new John Lennon book because I had B&N gift cards. "Free" is a pretty good price. ~Liz Free is a great price!!!!!
  11. Welcome back!!! The real question is... How have YOU been????? We have missed you!!!!!

    My place. :)

I missed the opening ceremonies and wish I could have seen it. Hopefully, Phil's little sister gets well soon. Today was so filled, that I am finally in San Francisco and I just need to get some well deserved sleep. Sleep is good. I didn't get nearly enough of it last night. For some reason I had a hard time falling asleep, and then had to get up early because I have church today. And like I said before, try searching online for video footage of the ceremonies. WHAAAAAATTTTTTTT???????? No mention of Phil in your post? There was nothing new to report about him between when my last two posts. He was sleeping at that time. Now, on the other hand..... After church, I spent pretty much the whole day with him. Phil, Jazzy, and I all went to his mom's house to hang out for the day with his two little (half?) sisters, which was fun times. One is 12 and the other is 5. We spent most of the time playing video games and just being silly in general, and it was a great day overall. It was kinda fun to see Phil interacting with his younger sisters. I don't really want kids, but I know that if someday we get married and have kids anyways, Phil is going to make a wonderful father. Saying good bye at the end of the day is getting harder and harder, knowing that Phil is going back to college soon. Today was probably our longest goodbye yet, and I found myself once again crying as I drove home. Phil looked like he was very near tears too. I'm not sure what kind of shape I'm going to be in the first few weeks we're apart, but this is harder than I expected. You will be going to be making lots of trips to his school. I can see this already. I really hope I'm able to, because I'm starting to think that such trips might be necessary for my sanity. What sanity? LOL

  20. I searched and it was interesting that many sites had the opening ceremony video removed due to copyright violations. Saw a little bit of it on a Dutch website. Incredible. Sorry I missed it. Copyright? Jeez that's dumb. The big news networks might have it up on their websites, and more people might continue to try and put clips on youtube. So far, all the YouTube clips I have searched, have been removed. I hadn't thought of looking at NBC. I just Yahooed the search. Perhaps the Chinese have a plan to make money with it. I looked at some of it on the 'official' Chinese site. Impressive.
