Your little rats will be in my prayers so a speedy and total recovery. Hopefully the black hooded one makes it though this illness. In the US, large pet stores are notorious as 'pet mills'. This is when they pump out pets with no regard to health or genetic quality. Some of the local pet stores which are owned by families, usually do not carry cats and dogs and breed rats, hamsters and gerbils themselves. I am a hamster breeder for a few pet stores in my local area, but I have some specific standards that are solely my own. For example, I only breed a female once, then she must be a pet. All breeder hamsters must all have the luxuries. Good wheel, ball for exercise, variety of chew toys, cage activities, etc., are some of my priorities. Also, I never breed relatives, even extended ones. Handling the babies is very important so that they get accustomed to human touch. Plus I potty train them all. Cleanliness is very, very important.

I wouldn't say you failed. Perhaps you just need a little expert advice on how to master eyes. From what I understand, to capture eyes is extremely difficult, but once you do, your portraits are masterpieces. You deserve a round of applause for trying! *applause is heard*

It's an old one as far as I can tell as it's the world premiere version. I saw Sunset Boulevard in the WEst End last week and I was completely bowled over by it (I usually think Lloyd Webber is EXTREMELY overrated and no where near as good as everybody says but I DID enjoy this one). Right now my song is the title song from said musical by Kevin Anderson. When you see Patti LuPone on stage, she is not a big woman, but when she starts to sing... whoaaaaaaaaa, what a powerful voice!!! You do not expect such a powerful, vibrant voice to come from a petite woman! I sure do love a belter: I have seen many, MANY musicals over the past few months and I am now a fan of Barbara Streisand, Judy Garland and Liza Minelli amongst others for their belting prowess. THey just blow me away. In the spirit of this, I'm currently listening to "Cabaret" by good old Liza Minelli. Well, add Patti LuPone to your list. She sure can keep up with the others! And I made an error... she was in Gypsy, not 39 Steps. I don't know what I was thinking.

These are great for someone who does not do portraits. From what I understand, the eyes are the most difficult part. Perhaps that is why you are not to happy. Remember, you are always your own worst critic.
