Sweet! That happened to me too because I came in with AP credits like you. And then I took an additional 7 credits over the summer, so now I'm technically a junior with my 61 credits, despite my being in my second year of college. Which means I can legally be a substitute teacher in the state of New Jersey. That's kind of a weird requirement for substitute teaching. Then again quite a few substitute teachers don't make the class progress and instead just sit there I had a substitute teacher teaching my english class for the last three quarters of my first year in high school He really needed discipline skills. Anyway, for me AP credits only make up part of my transcript. I placed in a high level French class (FR 354) and the school gave me transfer credits for the levels below. They also gave me transfer credit for precalc. But that made a total of 18 credits so I'm not complaining! That's pretty cool. I placed out of finite math and some basic comp class and they didn't give me anything for it. That's poopy. You should get the credit! I agree. Not that it would count towards anything though. Transfer credits don't count towards graduation at your school? Only if the credits count toward the requirements for my major(s). When I started out in physics, the math requirements started out at either algebra and trig or calc, so finite wouldn't have counted for anything.

  5. Perhaps you will see Phil lots over winter break. This gives you lots of time to learn standard. Haha really. Yesterday was fun though, lots of people hangin out in my room after I got back. Giving you a warm welcome on your return. lol something like that. My friends seem to like hanging out in my room for some odd reason, despite the fact that it's a cluttered mess. It's probably because I usually have the door propped open so they just walk in. Perfect for a soon-to-be-teacher. BTW... you sure are up early today. Yeah, I had to be up at 6 so I could get to the middle school by 7:30. Only two more days of that. Which is nice because I won't have to get up at 6, but sad because I like working with the middle school kids. Today I get to go back home for thanksgiving break, so I've got lots of packing/cleaning to do. The packing/cleaning will go fast... especially with thoughts of being home. And will you see Phil? I know you said winter break, but you didn't mention Turkey Day. Nah, he's headed out of state tomorrow to visit with family for Thanksgiving. (Hence why I wanted to see him over the weekend). Cheesey: Keep in mind, people who go to college with friends from high school don't always stay friends, or at least not as close friends. Don't pick colleges just because of where your friends are going. I knew no one at my college when I got there, and the friends I've made are the best friends I've ever had. Just something to keep in mind. Oh, and college is tons of fun, as long as you don't mess it up with stupid drama and alcohol abuse (the two often seem to go hand in hand, actually). I really don't see why people think drinking is so much fun when they don't remember most of it the next day.

Now THAT is my school!!!!!!!! Since 1951, I think. Yesterday Marius was wearing a t-shirt that says (now mind you, present-day Marius is probably the LEAST likely person to participate or be interested in sports), "Rider Football, undefeated since 1951." I want one of those shirts.

Ugh, sports rivalries are lame. They prove people have no lives. I hate competing, hence my lack of sports participation. It's so stupid. That's why I love my school. No one really cares that much about our sports team, and the football team has been undefeated for years because it doesn't exist. And I like that. Because people don't look down on you if you don't care about sports here.
  11. From what I understand, landing is the hardest part of flying, so don't worry about that.
  12. So it turned out that both of us were really busy today and never actually got together, which I'm kinda sad about, but we really wouldn't have had much time to hang out. So I guess it wasn't meant to happen. I've got all of winter break anyways, and at least then we wouldn't be under such crazy time schedule problems. It was, however, a fun day with my family and seeing some of my church friends again. We saw Beowulf after that, I didn't like it that much. Although the animation was amazing (it is animated, not live action). Tomorrow I go to church, and then straight to college.
  13. You must be excited! LOL Fod shopping... well the people at the airport will be happy you are cleaning up the tarmac for them. LOL Pissibly... no I won't touch that one. lol Food shopping and possibly. It's dark, I'm tired, and I wasn't paying attention.
  14. I'm home now! Saw some snow on the way over, which is exciting. Also went out to dinner, and got real food, which was awesome. Tomorrow is going to entail fod shopping, pissibly Phil (waiting for him to call with what his plans are), church Thanksgiving thing, and movies.
  15. Haha that is excellent! It's so true though. The scariest part of driving is the other cars!
  16. Ah, now I remember. How long are you already flying? And which Airbus do you fly? Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. How long? LOL... that is one of those questions that would give away the fact that I am not in university. LOL I fly the A300 and A310. My routes were Paris to various parts of Europe and the Middle East. Ooh, the airplane I took to florida was an Airbus A320, I think. It was spiffy. I would love to be a pilot, I think it would be tons of fun. Maybe someday I'll have the time and money to get my pilot's liscence... I think you should definitely become a pilot. lol so do I. My dad's a pilot, although his liscence isn't current (he's only flying ultralights right now, normal planes are too expensive, and mom would kill him if he bought a plane before fixing the house, car, [insert project here]. But yeah, if I have the chance to learn how to fly, I will. When I was little, my parents used to joke that I'd be getting my pilots liscence before my driving liscence. For normal airplanes at least, it doesn't seem too much more difficult than driving a car, and according to DMV, I'm capable of at least that much. Flying is much easier than driving. The great thing is that you do not have to deal with all those other "drivers". Haha true, not unless you *really* mess up.

spifferific That is quite possibly the most awesome word EVER. Indeed. And thanks both of you. You are quite welcome
  20. Marius... love is a matter of the heart, not the brain. Intelligence only gets in the way. Easier to ignore these things. Phil... now this sounds very promising. I am really excited to hear that Phil is excited about going home this weekend. Your weekend sounds like it is going to be stellar. BTW... learn to drive standard. lol really I actually started out learning standard, but that was taking too long so I switched. I'm planning on learning eventually though.

  22. Your first impressions are usually correct. There probably is something. Maybe. I really hope not though. I don't like not-liking people, especially when they're people that the people I'm close with like. And I would really hate to have to be the person to tell Marius there's something wrong with his romantic interest, especially since things seem to be going so well for him right now, and he's so happy about it. And I like seeing Marius happy. It's just something about the whole thing is making me uneasy, and I really don't like that. True story... I know a guy whose best friend was dating a girl. No one really liked her. He did tell his friend that he didn't think his friend shouldn't marry this girl. He didn't like hearing this bit of information and married her anyway. They got divorced about five years later and she got lots and lots of his assets. What is the purpose of my response? You need to follow your gut instinct and if you feel a need to voice your opinion, then I suggest you do. But only after you have tried to get to know her. Yeah, it happens. A friend of my mom's, they were telling her not to marry some guy the night before the wedding. They got divorced too. And no, I'd never tell someone I don't like someone without getting to know them first, that would just be stupid. Not really stupid, some friends just know from the first meeting that someone is bad news, and they try to save their friend from getting into a bad situation before they even start dating. My thought lines were that Marius probably would not listen to you until after you had tried to get to know her. Ah, yeah, even if I did get to know her, he still might not listen to me. Marius is very intelligent and more intuitive than I'll ever be, but sometimes he likes to ignore certain aspects of reality to suit his liking. Anyways, I'm going home this weekend. And Phil's going home this weekend, so we're planning on hanging out together. And the awesome part is: I have my liscence! So I don't have to get my mom to drive me anywhere or worry abut what she's doing/not doing or whatever. I just need to get ahold of one of our cars that 1.) is not a stick shift, and 2.) works. And what really excites me is that Phil's facebook status says Phil is is waiting to go home for once. Plus Saturday evening is the church thanksgiving thing, so I get to see all my awesome church friends too. So yeah, I'm excited.
