  1. Sleeeeep. It's not that late, but I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open.
  2. Wonderful technological leap lol. Hm.....I was out shopping with Phil before I got online.
  3. I missed the opening ceremonies and wish I could have seen it. Hopefully, Phil's little sister gets well soon. Today was so filled, that I am finally in San Francisco and I just need to get some well deserved sleep. Sleep is good. I didn't get nearly enough of it last night. For some reason I had a hard time falling asleep, and then had to get up early because I have church today. And like I said before, try searching online for video footage of the ceremonies. WHAAAAAATTTTTTTT???????? No mention of Phil in your post? There was nothing new to report about him between when my last two posts. He was sleeping at that time. Now, on the other hand..... After church, I spent pretty much the whole day with him. Phil, Jazzy, and I all went to his mom's house to hang out for the day with his two little (half?) sisters, which was fun times. One is 12 and the other is 5. We spent most of the time playing video games and just being silly in general, and it was a great day overall. It was kinda fun to see Phil interacting with his younger sisters. I don't really want kids, but I know that if someday we get married and have kids anyways, Phil is going to make a wonderful father. Saying good bye at the end of the day is getting harder and harder, knowing that Phil is going back to college soon. Today was probably our longest goodbye yet, and I found myself once again crying as I drove home. Phil looked like he was very near tears too. I'm not sure what kind of shape I'm going to be in the first few weeks we're apart, but this is harder than I expected. You will be going to be making lots of trips to his school. I can see this already. I really hope I'm able to, because I'm starting to think that such trips might be necessary for my sanity. What sanity? LOL The ptmy's stole it once, but eventually gave it back. Sheena never managed to get ahold of it. So it's in my possession most of the time (sometimes it likes to wander off). Anyways, today was fun. Phil and I went out to the mall, wal-mart, and a couple other places (Michy's birthday party is in a couple days, we ended up getting her a wal-mart gift card and some sour skittles from both of us ) He probably would have come to hang out with me afterwords, but his uncle had dropped off his little cousin Trin right before he left, so he wanted to get back to be able to help his sister with the babysitting (and also prevent any possible irritation about him not helping out or something like that. Yaaaay staying on the good side of parental units and siblings). His grandparents are actually away for the week though, which means the computer curfew is unenforceable, and it doesn't really matter where he goes or for how long as long as he takes care of things that have been deemed his responsibility, which is good. I'm going to be driving him to and from work tomorrow, and he's probably going to come over and hang out for awhile after work, which should be fun. I need to go grocery shopping too (which I would have done anyways), so it works out well. I'll also be up early enough to get some things done while he's at work, which is good.
  4. Ooh fun. Fed-ex pays for your hotel stays, I assume? We are cheap airline pilots... they have to pay or else we would be sleeping in the jet. Actually that is one of the great benefits of the job, you get to go to fun places and if the schedule permits, you can do a little sight seeing. For example, we got in last night and do not leave until 04H00 local time Tuesday morning. So, I will have today and tomorrow to have some fun. I've been wanting to ask you this for a while... Do you find it easier being a cargo airline pilot knowing you don't have the lives of hundreds as you would if you were a passanger airline pilot? Don't even consider it. We carry a few 'jumpseaters' (passengers), but even if it is only myself and my first officer, we always have safety as our primary concern which is the same as the passenger airlines. Pilots always err on the side of caution/safety, so what is in the back does not matter. When passengers come into a pilot's consideration is when there are delays, or a deviation to another destination because of weather or mechanical, now you have to advise them of what is happening. Hope this helps. Makes sense to me. Airplane crashes are no fun, regardless of who or what is involved. An airplane crash could ruin your whole day. More than your whole day, I imagine. When dad crashed his ultralight, he was hurting for quite a long time. How painful. Not only to the body, but to the bank account. Glad to know your father was not hurt seriously. Eh, it wasn't too bad overall. He now knows to not fly obsolete weight-shift controlled aircraft.
  5. Banana!!!!! Hammerhead shark or Tiger shark? Hammerhead Shark. They have awesome-shaped heads. Text Smileys (like o_o) or Board smileys (like ) Board smilies! Dell or Gateway? In the interest of this topic not dying, I arbitrarily pick Dell. Lava lamps or fiber optic lamps? (I would have said Neither. LOL) Lava lamps. Sunrises or sunsets? Me too, but we're not allowed to say neither. oooh....both are so pretty...sunrises tend to be prettier, but in the interest of not being awake that early in the morning, I pick sunsets. kilts or togas? Do I really have to choose? OK, I choose kilts. They're hardcore. Top Hats or Flat Caps? Top hats.... Not greatest quality pic but whatever... MIT or Northwestern? ~Liz Northwestern. Huge house in need of renovation, or tiny high-tech studio apartment? Tiny high-tech studio apartment. River view or mountain view? Mountain view. "yellow submarine" or "octopus's garden" (the songs) ~Liz Octopus' garden... definitely!!! Snow or rain? SNOW good bye or see you later? Most definitely see you later. Cotton or Wool? Ooh....wool is good for winter gear, but for everyday wearing I have to go with cotton. m&ms or reeses pieces? both very good! i think I'll choose reeses pieces... john lennon's work with the beatles, or john lennon's solo work? John Lennon's work with the Beatles. Flip Flops or Crocs? Flip flops! College ruled or wide ruled notebooks? Seeing as I rarely ever have to do hand-written work with page minimums anymore, I go with college ruled because you can fit more notes per page. legos or kinex (or is it k'nex? I don't remember o.O)
  6. I'll be taking a shower, and then either getting the chores done that I was supposed to do yesterday or doing something with Phil (or both), depending on what his plans are.

  8. Staying up like that is easy as long as you're staying active. And leaving your house at 2:30am....you'll do fine in college.
  9. I searched and it was interesting that many sites had the opening ceremony video removed due to copyright violations. Saw a little bit of it on a Dutch website. Incredible. Sorry I missed it. Copyright? Jeez that's dumb. The big news networks might have it up on their websites, and more people might continue to try and put clips on youtube.

  14. I know, just the coordination involved with all those people amazes me. It's like marching band x1000. And I think to myself, "We had a hard enough time just getting 30 people in a choir to walk down an aisle and into risers in an orderly manner......"

  16. I was sleeping, although not nearly for long enough.

  18. You can probably find video footage of it online without too much trouble.
  19. Ooh fun. Fed-ex pays for your hotel stays, I assume?
  20. Today I did nothing. I got up after noon, and just kinda sat around all day. I wasn't really in a great mood all day. Tomorrow I have church, and then I'm going with Phil and Jazzy to their mom's house to visit with their family (their little sister is sick, I think it's really adorable that Phil came up with the idea to visit her).
  21. I will be getting some sleep, which I quite obviously need.
  22. This is the topic I thought I was in. I was at Phil's house.
